My grandfather owned 300 acres in Arkansas with an Indian burial ground on it. He himself was half Creek. I believe what this guy is saying because very similar things happened when people would go down into the burial ground and take items or move them out of place. The spirit world is very real.

I am from Arkansas but live in Mississippi. My grandparents had a big cotton farm-thousands of acres. There is a museum in Wilson, Arkansas near where they lived. He contributed lots of Native American artifacts that were found on his farm. There were so many Indian Mounds on that land. He leveled many of them to be able to farm the land. I will have to check with my Mother to see if there were any negative consequences of that. Lots of questions…

It was interesting hearing this, so I’m Navajo and I used to live on the reservation and would experience weird things like this, especially with something running on our roof. This happened in 2020 and I didn’t really think it would ever happen to my family, because you hear stories but it did and it’s spooky. A lot of the time it’s the “he who walks on four legs”, sorry I can’t say it, but it is a huge belief among my tribe, and usually it’s if you disturbed something or someone is basically witching you

I’ve gathered and hunted for stray cattle on a particular forest service allotment. 30 minute drive up the mountain than another hour on horseback. I’ve found a lot of cool stuff. But an old timer told me “there’s a lot of old Indian camps and burial sites, you’ll find a lot of cool shit but don’t pick any of it up or bring it home.” I asked why and he just said trust me so I did. This man was about 73 years old and been cowboying all his life so full of wisdom an knowledge. ( he thinks they were burial sites, I’m not sure if that’s true or not but you’d get a weird feeling anytime you’d come into this one clearing and a lot of artifacts in that clearing) He said it’s not ours to take. I never took anything and hearing this story makes me really happy about that.
@5urrea727 күн бұрын
I take them when I find them if they aren’t broken. I consider this to be preservation of history, and thinking about if it were me in their shoes … I can’t imagine why I’d be upset if someone hundreds or thousands of years after I died picked up a tool I made to save it from being trampled by cattle or broken by some other event as it’s laying on the surface of the earth. I’d be honored if someone saved and preserved my work that cherished it with a sense of awe and respect. I’ve never experienced anything negative coming from my modest artifact collection. If they don’t get picked up, they will be broken in time with 100% certainty.

Back in 1996 my brother had a house out in the country and it was also on a hill. We started digging at the peak of the hill behind his house and found tons of arrowheads, drill bits, knives, a cool stone ball with grooves that looked like it was tied to something. We found a clay bead with amazung detail but my little sister tried to rinse it off and it disolved. Anyway, my brother said that he started to hear things crashing downstairs but nothing was moved. He came downstairs to a massive pile of turkey feathers once. He heard his horses going crazy one night and the next day one of the horses had braided hair. His stepson woke up one night and saw a man standing in front of his closest with a bright light shining behind him. He told him something but I can't remember what it was. We dug a hole out there bug enough to fit a car in. Of all the years we dug for arrowheads that was the best spot. Never saw any bones or anything like that.

The offering thing is so true! I was river walking in PA with a local and found a little plate along the banks. I also saw a statue of an angel out there and I left the plate in her hands. Immediately following that I found my first arrowhead. There is more to that story but the gist is definitely to be as giving as you are taking. Especially in sacred places!

He and his friends arrived at a place that was an ancient battlefield and also a sacred burial ground for Native Americans. The restless spirits there only seek to reclaim what shouldn't have been taken. Our ancient Chinese ancestors taught us not to enter mountains or forests without reason. Smudging with the Sage saved you. As a Native American I have to say, there was an “entity”, a mischievous spirit was attached to the place where you took the arrowheads and other items you may have taken. Next time leave a piece of candy or even offer tobacco to it and say out loud “this is in exchange for if or when I take something from your area. With respect, thank you and please accept this as a trade.” Especially if it’s a mischievous spirit, candy or anything sweet and tasty would be excellent. My grandmother always told me that those “tricksters” have a sweet tooth. You could even leave them ( piece of candy ) outside your doors and windows and they won’t go inside your house if they live nearby that is. Anyways. Great story, brother. I have spoken

About 2 days later, my girlfriend and I were in bed (she was sleeping, and I was reading), when I started hearing someone walking in my kitchen, shuffling papers around. It sounded like someone in work boots. Long story short, I thought it was an intruder, so I grabbed my 45, slowly opened my bedroom door, could still hear him walking around (probably 8ft away), quickly hit the light... and nothing. My hubby and I love to go fishing, metal detecting and bottle hunting. So, I'll tell you, take your metal detector when you hunt fields for artifacts!!! Why? Meteorites! They are metallic and will beep when you locate them. Good luck!!! 😊👍

Doesn’t every culture have some variation of: don’t screw with the dead?

I bought a Buffalo hide wrapped, broken Winchester 1873 at auction that had a spirit attachment. I discovered a full, completely in-scale two- headed skeleton pressed into the stock, about 8 inches high. The very second i realized what i was looking at, a moan that sounded exactly like an Indian vocalized over my shoulder. Then immediately again. Then it started a 3rd time, and the very second i turned to look, the voice cut off sharply. It was 100% real. I know this because i was not scared and if you had told me that was gonna happen I'd been 10 miles away. The real proof to me was the fact that the very millisecond i realized it was a Skelton, i knew i was the first to find it. Because it was Pressed into the wood and not carved or scratched, it's not visible unless under certain lighting conditions, or if you took tissue paper and pencil and did the penny trick. The only reason i even saw it was because i had to remove the rawhide to get the serial number and the indirect lighting in the room highlighted the unusual parallel and unusually equidistant lines. I felt the odds of that being random was 0, which caused me to investigate. That was only the first of 5 over 3 years, all Native American imo.

It still hangs in my gun room and I've had no repeat occurrences related to that incident.

This is from an Indigenous Educator who teaches students about their culture & language. But also as someone who’s a child of medicine people who help people with these things. Most tribes have offerings as essential to their cultures. You got to know that all of america is basically a graveyard for Indigenous Peoples. Our ancestors who died have a different perspective from us today, so I’m pretty sure they’re gonna haunt you. lol The sage probably was the offering to help, but anything of ours is usually returned with us when we pass. Land means everything to us, so we would rather be resting on our homelands than taken with our things. Which is why we have NAGPRA for museums. Sure you live there now and it’s “your land bc you bought it” but it used to be all ours. Please think about this before you decide to take stuff & respect our ancestors ❤️🩹

Talking about things you have no fucking clue about is pure ignorance. Lighting a candle on a birthday cake and blowing it out with a wish in mind started as a pagan ritual. So many people do shit today without a single clue of its original meaning. You seem to be in that group. Know what you’re talking about before spewing nonsense.

This how they found Kennewick Man. It was probably one of the most important discoveries in ancient North American anthropology. You can’t be just pulling stuff like that out of the ground.

I've been scratched from a spirit.. Feels like someone putting a cigarette out on you..... This was after finding a rock that looked like an old stone that represented a name .. was carved on both sides to what looked like a letter of some alphabet.... I grew up on the trail of tears........
