These are lovely - I just bought the 5000 - the difference in weight between the various sizes is so slight that I went for the biggest for the larger arbour (advertised at 68g although my scale reads 70g). Why do I want such a light reel? For hiking in the hills where it's important to minimise pack weight. The all-metal clicker is another feature that attracted me. I have a similarly-sized Sage Click (20g heavier) which has a plastic clicker which looks to me like it won't last (although to be fair it's still fine 3 years on and the part would presumably be cheap and simple to replace if it did wear out). The Hardy's click sounds nicer than the Sage too, although to my eye the Sage wins the visual beauty contest. Unless you're after large trout, surely a clicker is all you really need. These large arbour clickers are a welcome new development because they speed up retrieve, lessen line memory, and are easier to 'palm'.

Hi, which type of fly line you using,and how big length for this reel is better?
@Muushondje6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. I mostly fish this little reel with a WF2-F with a what shortened running line. So I have plenty of space on the reel spool.

Hello, thanks for the video. I wanted to ask please, what rod did you match to this reel? I purchased Douglas upstream 6.6" 3wt with size 2000 but the seller mistakenly sent me size 3000 and there is a difference of 5.5 grams. Thank you very much

Thanks for watching my first view. Well I think you can't go wrong with a size 3000. The weight of this reel is so low that it doesn't make a difference. The advantage with a size 3000 is that the reel arbour is a bit larger so it is more easy to fish your flyline and keep memory coils away. I wish you lots of fun with your superb flyreel ! With kind regards, Robert Remijnse

I thought I watched a review by Howard Croston that there were no plastic parts included in the reel. Could the handle be aluminum?
@Muushondje2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. The handle is made from injection molded plastic.

Not fit for hardcore winter grayling fishing it froze up -5 on the tweed and the click system popped so line paying out freely. Apparently this is a common issue but hardy still charge you to repair. It’s still in their hands I’ve been waiting 4 weeks now. Nice looking reel but Better options on the market that are fit for purpose. Put the extra in and get the sage ESN👎🏻👎🏻

I love this reel and good review, but not too sure about your claim it has a "classic" look about it. The Marquis is a classic design. This one is forward thinking.

Thanks for watching my review. What I ment with classic look is that it is a typical Hardy design of the last decade. Looking classy and not overdesigned. And talking about the Marquis that was in it days also a very modern design which still works really very good. And it is timeless forward thinking. Cheers Robert

Hi would you suggest this reel for a streamer setup for bass?
@Muushondje2 жыл бұрын
No, it is way to light. I would go for a reel with a nice disk drag and minimal capacity for a 7 weight line.
