There are many reasons behind the holy 108 beads of Japa Mala.
All the manjaris , Gun manjaris , sakhis and their Kunj represents the number 108.
Renowned mathematicians of Vedic culture viewed 108 as a number of the wholeness of existence. This number also connects the Sun, Moon, and Earth: The average distance of the Sun and the Moon to Earth is 108 times their respective diameters. Such phenomena have given rise to many examples of ritual significance.
According to yogic tradition, there are 108 Pitha, or sacred sites, throughout India. And there are also 108 Upanishads and 108 marma points, or sacred places of the body.
Chakras resonate with the 108 mala beads in terms of the seven energies in the body. This practice believes that there are 108 energy lines that connect to the heart and that each of them leads to the path of self-realization.
In this Kali Yuga, the #Harinaam is the only way to achieve salvation not only after death but while being alive as well. It helps us to free ourselves from the illusion of this materialistic world and establish an unbreakable relationship with the supreme lord.
