Yes because (1) President of India does not exercise any powers and most of the time he is just a figure head. He does not make decisions. You can visit him many times as a friend and no one will think you are trying to get some favour, as he cannot grant you any favours. I too don't find anything wrong in the PM joining the Pooja in CJ's house. If the two wanted to tweak the legal process in favour of the ruling party, they could do it without a joint Pooja. That said, Harish Salve is no authority in the matter. He is a lawyer after all. He can defend any side. If there was another party in power, his view would have been different.
