You are so right about Homestays!! I've experienced this too. In the name of homestays some people are running small businesses without any accountability. I live in West Bengal, and I frequently travel all over India. To me this prevalent business policy of charging per head in this area (W.B) looks very unreasonable. Really appreciated your interaction with those self-help group girls and your gesture of buying a small item to encourage them. Your kind of people becoming rarer these days! Travelled solo to few offbeat locations like Tinchuley, Rangaroon, so on 2 years back (last week of Nov), stayed in a double occupancy room but paid only for myself, which was around 1500/- per day. Also, the amout included breafast, lunch, evening snack, dinner and tea (several times). Not sure if things changed now, charging exact double seems to be unreasonable, max homestays can charge extra for the room occupancy, but not for food.

Absolutely 100%, North Bengal & Sikkim homestays have become very expensive, the cost is not justified at all......even hired car fare is too much costly

Sir, I've been following your videos since the Kerala series. But as a viewer I've a suggestion for BTS channel, kyuki ek video visa to explore pr dekhna padta or ek BTS pr. Toh my suggestion is k jo bhi aap public ko dikhana nhi chahte hain wo aap BTS pr upload kar dijiye simple. Isse accurate behind the scene banega or vieos k liye channel bhi shuffle nhi karna hoga. Kyuki aap Sittong se Kurseong toh gye lekin Kurseong se Mirik kab pahuch gye wo dekhne k liye BTS pr aana padega. Ab jo BTS pr nhi aayega toh usko thoda discontinous lagegi journey.

Yes sir, you are quite true. Nowadays bahar ki log leise leke caretaker ke upar chor dete hai and the leise takers also do not take good care. I had a bad experience too. If you want to have beautiful experience of a homestay, Amairah homestay hai Kurseong. I went to this homestay by directly calling the owner who stays there. You can Google and contact them personally. You will not be disappointed
