At a distance of 8 km from Khireshwar, 50 km from Bhandardara, 166 km from Pune & 218 km from Mumbai, Harishchandragad is a historical hill fort situated in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. The height of the fort is 1,424 meters.. Harishchandragad is very popular place for trekking in Maharashtra and also one of the famous Bhandardara tourist places. The fort have multiple entry routes such as the Junnar gate, Sadhale ghat, Nalichi wat and Indore Vaat.
Harishchandragad trek has many temples, Pushkarni and caves on the top. They all represent different cultures starting from the 6th century.
The main attraction at Harishchandra Gad is the sunset view from Kokankada. This cliff is called so because it overlooks the Konkan region. It seems more like an overhang than just a peak point. It gives a beautiful panoramic view and is regarded as one of the best places to watch a rainbow since the entire circular rainbow can be seen from this cliff.
