You're absolutely right about all your preventive measures and it looks like you've got some fantastic products. I wanted to add a little bit of information. What you're referring to as oxidation is actually sulfur molecules from the air binding to the silver. Your Copper lined bags will capture those sulfur molecules 1st preventing it from getting to the silver.. So it's a great idea.

I use aluminum and baking soda and boiling hot water, put the aluminum foil shiny side up in a bowl and put baking soda over the jewelry and pour the boiling water in the bowl. I'm from Concord North Carolina.

My experience with keeping silver nice like ice is this: store your silver in an airtight bag with anti tarnish strips. Every now and then wipe the silver down with a buffing cloth, or firstly a polishing cloth if needed. Some people use a sunshine cloth, I prefer the connoisseurs brand cloths. The wipes are more abrasive but also work very well. The baking soda hot water soaking should only be used as a last resort or used on highly tarnished silver. An ultrasonic cleaner may remove hard to reach dirt, but is not safe to use on pieces that contain stones. (Eddie has mentioned this). For dirt removal all ya need is hot water, dish soap, and a tooth brush. Always Pat dry or wrap in a towel afterwards, and then wipe with a cloth. It’s important to wipe your chains after wearing them, not before wearing them. Removing oil and dirt will keep them Jawns shiny. It’s simple, and if you love your pieces it can be an enjoyable experience to partake in the maintenance.

This is totally informative, give u some insights before investing in buying jewellery. I have the LV silvery metal brass mono chains bracelet which I don't wear often and i would imagine "trash turning garbage due to oxidation and very likely it will turn into a shade of greyish black. People who drink alot. The oils in their skin can actually tarnish silver within a day. When i was heavy on liquor. No matter what ring i wore. By the end of the day id have a nice black ring around my finger. Once i stopped drinking never had the issue again

I guess technically it _could_ be called oxidation, since sulfur is more electronegative than silver. But what I heard was that it's not the silver itself that tarnishes, but the alloying metals suuch as copper. That its, that pure silver does not tarnish just from exposure to air.

It comes from when somebody takes lower amounts of silver is probably lower than 925. They just stamped it with 925 and it's probably much lower than 925 and they used cheap metals to cast it and plated it to make it look like it was good. A real juror will purify it means it will be 9:30 9:4 0. It'll just say 9:25 and when they melt it they may add gold into it. A different precious metal in order to keep it from turning black

Durban South Africa. I have a "Ticky" bracelet; - A Ticky is a silver British ¼ shilling (2½pennies) there are about 10 of them linked with gold swivels. The oldest dates back to the late 1800s - Has the image of Queen Victoria - the others are in the 1909 /1913 range with King George's image . Purchased in Buenos Aires, Argentina - so oxidized it look as if it had been dipped in "Liver of sulphate." Purchased in1982.. The Argentine currency was "Pesos" - the cost was 20P with a cleaning - cleaned the silver shimmered - The Sales person, Jewler, offered to buy it back for 30P - I just laughed politely saying "No, gracias" ----- to this day , 42 years later the coins haven't tarnished at all - sill as bright - obviously that Argentinian Jeweler knows something others don't. I dint wear it - it is part of a bygone era or two.
