Love your videos Sybert. If that Cyro blast had caught even 50% of Harlen's army, that fight would have ended very badly for the Soviets. That ability should have been a super weapon to replace the chromosphere instead of a protocol ability. Allies abuse the hell out of it in every fight

What? Hammer tanks can't crush riptides. If the riptide was shrunk then it could. If DDF had guardians he could have crushed the shrunk hammer tanks, but DDF only had riptides so he couldn't crush.

@@OneSybert Sorry I was unclear. Look at the timestamp 6:43 The Riptide was shrunk, it was even held in place by a terror drone beam and then the Hammer tank rolled over it. I thought it should have crushed the shrunken riptide somehow it didn't? It even rolled away and the shrunken riptide was still there. It even had time for the shrunk effect to end afterwards.

Oh, I misread the timestamp in my first reply. I have no idea why that happened. Maybe riptides are un-crushable by lower tier tanks and I've never noticed. It really seems that it should have gotten crushed there.

8:36 very sneaky trap from DDF, he put a barracks close to his new CC to engineer-heal it while Harlen would sacrifice some of his army to try kill the CC. That definitely bought some time to DDF

I feel like the cryos didn't do much for DDF but stall, he never had anything around to kill the shrunk units and got few freezes because of the AA

Yeah the fact is Harlen's eco was just unmatched and DDF was unable to significantly harass or slow him down.

It was at that perfect time for strategy games where the tech was good enough and they had been making consistent improvements for about 10 years. Even 15 years later I haven't seen better water in a strategy game.

RTS camera hiding models' age. Full color palette instead of 50 shades of brown. Easily recognisable (and a bit goofy) unit design. Very well made visual effects.

@@vantuz8264 Absolutely right about the unit design. I feel like a lot of other RTS games just don't have the same character given to each of the unit designs. Too many of them look too similar to each other, makes it hard to tell them apart.

Ye for sure the camera and zoom level are doing some work. But many strategy games from before Tib Wars just don't hold up these days as well as TW/KW and RA3.

man i still pray we will some day see maybe a mod that does the kane's wrath of red alert 3 (not like uprising, i mean something balanced, avoiding just giving mainly to empire all the most imbalanced stuff ever, then the second most op stuff to the allies, and nothing worth having to the soviets, litterally just junk units that stand no chance against basic new emp units)

@@NivRel nah, just balancing the base game itself. Uprising and KW are both expansions but they have different philosophies, the franchises themselves as well. RA3U is meant to be this unbalanced power fantasy and it fits in that universe.

There's 1.12.6 which is a bug fix patch. Balance patches have been suggested but it seems there's not enough consensus on what exactly should change for a balance patch. Some people don't like the bug fixes.
