I have this one in the same color. Mine is probably from a bit older batch (since mine has no serial number yet - but also made in vietnam ). I can understand that you recommend it... coz i love mine. Love how it plays for the price and i love the P90 sound. Love how dynamic they transfer your playing to the amp. Also such versatile Pickups, they can rock, they can jazz, they can raggae they can... well honestly I didnt find a music style they dont sound at least "good" in yet - the neck pickup even sounds reasonably good for stuff you normally would play on an acoustic. :D If you can live with the hum, but yeah thats just the nature of singecoils - not too much you can do about it (apart from using the Middle position :D ), but singlecoils just have this extra "sparkle", which i feel humbuckers compress. Only thing i had to do was polishing the nutslots a bit with fine sandpaper and lube it with graphite to make the trem actually fairly usuable for reasonable vibratos ( before i did this it just got out of tune as soon as i touched the trem - and its my first guitar that has a tremsystem, so im not sure if i could improve it even more - didnt want to overdo it since i dont wanna use this trem for steve vai stuff anyway - but for surfrock its good enough now :) ) . It wasnt too much work. I would definatly recommend this guitar too.

My concern is the weight. On one forum where buyers discussed the guitar some were disappointed that weighed 4.3 kg, which is over 9 lb. Thomann states that they weigh 3.5 kg (7.7 lb.) on average- this does not appear to be the case generally. Definitely not a substitute for PRS SE/P90s. That's one way Harley Benton cuts corners financially. I always advise buying the most expensive guitar one can afford. Don't be fooled by low prices or a flashy paint-job. Nine pounds is a lot to gig with. Les Paul territory, without the LP honeyed-tones.
@resqgear19183 жыл бұрын
I get your concern about the weight. More and more people are buying less heavy guitars these days because they see the benefits of a light guitar. Personally I like lighter guitars as well. They also tend to resonate better in my opinion. Harley Benton is still at a place where some of their guitars are very light, and some of them are pretty heavy. My model is really not heavy, but I'm sure there's a bunch of 4,5kg models out there. Let's look at the guitar for what it is. It's a budget friendly PRS LOOKALIKE. It doesn't sound or play anything like a PRS, and I think it's okay it doesn't. I would also advice to buy, maybe not the most expensive you can afford, but definitely punch above the Harley Benton threshold if you can afford a PRS, Fender, Gibson or Ibanez AZ. However this guitar is perfectly fit to bring with you on stage, and it would have brought a newly born guitarist like myself back in the days, a lot more joy than my horrible Squier I started on. Guitars is so subjective but I follow your thoughts 200%! ❤️
@adrian_V993 жыл бұрын
@@resqgear1918 sadly, with many older players, it's arthritis which makes it a hardship to gig with a 9 lb. guitar. Keith's and Ronnie's Fenders are under 7 lb.
@cliffordrayford50632 жыл бұрын
I hear what your saying but I got 3 Gibson's , one a CUSTOM deluxe I paid over $4000 for and 2 other mid priced " In my opinion GIBSON is way overrated because they use parts the are made in Indonesia and as far as the most important thing !! My Gibson custom doesn't sound any better than this HB in the review " the only difference I see is the sustain on my Gibson's are a little better " but as far as the tone values , Gibson's not any better " . I had a friend put a good grade of locking tuners on his HB guitar and CTS potientiometers and it made a world of difference in this $250 guitar !!! The sound quality is the most important thing to me NOT THE NAME because with Gibson thats all your paying for and nothing more !!! 👍

@@resqgear1918 I put in vintage P90 and it was not an improvement. This guitar needs high -octane Seymour Duncan ones or D'Addario. Back to originals now. Too muddy for P90. Basically Harley Benton sells you a body and neck. Rest is a costly process.
