I like how balanced both pickpups sound together. Usually there's a quite noticeable difference in volume between full and split humbucker pickpus, but here I can't hear it as much. 👍

Great playing, as always. The bridge single coil sounds really nice.

As someone who owns this bass here's a "warning" for potential buyers: There is no passive switch, what the author here describes as passive mode is just splitted hum. The switch does go from parallel to split mode on the humbucker. Easy to test by just knocking on the magnets. I ended up modifying this bass by adding 3-way switch which adds serial in first position (not avaialble in factory settings), split in 2nd and parallel in 3rd. I also added active/passive pull up switch on volume knob. The serial position shows most balance in definition and power, however the pickups and electronics are utter crap and I think I might invest in some decent pickups as the stock ones are just veru VERY bad. The wood is decent, heavy bass with solid acoustics unplugged. Whoever plans on buying this prepare extra for fret fanning and setting up action as the factory set doesn't provide enough relief yet the action is set very high.

Since the switch is already there, with some tinkering in the wiring it can be made into a bypass switch but eh, it should have been there from the start.

Excellent demo, Excellent playing. I just purchased this exact same Bass; Thanks for sharing/posting. Question; Why no Active tone settings? Sounds Great in Passive though. Thanks again.👊🏾

You have treble boost in the video, probably bass boost as well. It's active mode.

Duuuuude!!! Great playing, great sound, great bass!!!!!!! How’s the weight on this guy Rainer?
@AlexanderHolovachov Жыл бұрын
Is it 5+ kg weight? I've heard those basses are extremely heavy, even 4 string ones.

HB is notoriously heavy, it's moist wood.

@VeitLehmann Жыл бұрын

Hi, is this bass neck heavy? I see that it has kinda big headstock.
@roopekanerva5606 Жыл бұрын
Good bass player but I do think the pickups sound a. bit muddy. Not clear enough for my taste. Decent for slap but not that good in other aspects.

Enhanced MJ-5MN or Enhanced MP-5EB Bass for you?
@halcyo Жыл бұрын
Playing is stellar as usual. Obviously it's a low cost bass, and I can kinda hear that the pickups are a little muddy and the tone is kinda smeared sounding. Like I'm not getting the clarity and punch I'd want. I suppose it's just got a darker tone that doesn't excite me so much.

I own the 4 string version of this. Stainless steel frets and a nice neck. Mine is pretty heavy, though I haven't weighed it for exact amount. But it plays nice and I'm happy with it :) Some people aren't overly thrilled with pickups or electronics. I've changed pickups as a test for some cheap things, maybe eventually I'll put something more expensive in when I can afford it.
