Mine came in this morning. I bought the Metallic Plum. It’s pretty great honestly. Was already set up and all I had to do was tune it and it’s stayed in tune perfectly.
@struppmann.2 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear that. It seems to have the same tuners as the ST-20 HH SBK, which hold tune very well. The first tuning took a while, let's see how it holds tune in the next few days 🙂
@gianalfredo2 жыл бұрын
Dude, I am currently between the Plum and a Jackson JS22 in blue. What would you recommend? I worry that the “plum” would be too pink and about the resale value of a HB vs. a Jackson. Holla! Thanks!

Thanks for this first pre-review. The guitar looks great, I love that Ibanez style neck. The body reminds me more of an esp, I hoped it was thiner, like an Ibanez s series but it seems ergonomic anyway. At first sight the tuners seems quite bad, and I didn't like the sound but the guitar was not perfectly in tune and we didn't hear a lot of playing so let's wait to hear more. Thanks 👍
@struppmann.2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your kind comment :) Yes, the body seems "normal"-sized. And I didn't make my final conclusion to the tuners since they seem to be the same as on the ST-20 HH which hold tune very well. Maybe it was just a little hard to tune because of the new strings. There is a deep-dive video coming up soon. I'm gonna give a variety of tones through different amps and produce a song with the guitar in the mix. Maybe we can find some nice sounds for you :) Rock on! 🤟🏼

@struppmann.2 жыл бұрын
Hi stefmarjo! Great, congratulations to your new guitar :) Yeah, I agree with the voicing of the pickups, they sound a little aggressive with high output, but are not doomy. Thanks for your advice with the tuners! Really appreciated 😎🤟🏼

How do you find the very flat radius for playing open major chords vs a 12" radius?
@struppmann.2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I don't feel a difference. Since 12" is already flat, the additional flattiness (is that a word? 😁) feels just fine 👍🏼
@sixstrings45682 жыл бұрын
@@struppmann. Thanks! Do you prefer this one or the ST-20 HH Active?
@struppmann.2 жыл бұрын
@@sixstrings4568 Speaking for my first impression: there are two main differences, neck finish and pickups. The ST-20 has a smooth black-satin finish that slides just a little bit better than the natural-satin neck on the R-446. For the boomy-doomy sounds I also prefer the active PUs on the ST-20, but the Artec humbucker on the R-446 are more open sounding and could be better for some classic to hard rock stuff. Fret polish was better on the ST-20 out of the box, but that's not a big deal.
