I bought this guitar too weeks ago and I really do not regret it. When I received it I changed the strings immediatly ( Dean Markley Blue steel) and maybe need a little setup of the neck because the space between it and the strings is too high for me wich removes a bit of play confortability. Also the neck pickup can be changed for a better quality one ( the origin one is very nice but can be upgrade easily ) for about 20$ only. I did all these upgrades and the guitar really looks like an expensive Telecaster. It has the look, the sound and the feeling of a very good guitar that you can play at home and on stage. Great video btw, subded ! Edit: in 2021 This model has some upgrades and cost 159€

The moment guys like Rich have no problem buying this stuff or even playing it live is when companies like Gibson and Fender should start re-thinking their entire marketing mix, because this means that the product is good enough that it may likely steal consumers from the big brands. Perhaps until now it seemed that the brand was too recent and plagued by early issues which come along with rapid expansion (some faulty products, inconsistent quality output etc) but they are getting better and deliver instruments which look, feel and play like the products with a twice to four times the price tag. Basically, a lethal combination of German design and Quality Control and cheap Chinese manufacturing costs plus internalized marketing and distribution (wholesale quantities manufactured by Thomann's Chinese contractors) make for an unbeatable price point while reducing/eliminating the biggest drawbacks with Chinese knockoffs (some very bad parts, tricky and lengthy warranty-claim process, bad/non-existing Quality Control). P.S. this vid: the tone @ min 6:40 is awesome!

I have the same model just in rosewood and it sounds amazing. The rosewood model I have, the strings are through the body so that’s cool. I didn’t have to change anything on the guitar. I played a couple Mexican and US teles and I always felt like something was off keep in mind the price also. Most likely the pick ups were not my style. But anyways the pick ups on these Harley Bentons are really good for the money. You’ll be doing yourself a favor getting one. So I had about 20 seconds of buyer's remorse after a late night online impulse buy. Then I watched this video. First off: your playing is just sublime. That's all I can say. Literally the first time I've seen someone break out the EVH style fret tapping on a Tele. Anyway, I'm a huge fan of up-cycling lower end instruments. This one plus shipping beat even a Squier tele. sounds stupid, but I don't have an amp, so my playing it is unplugged... however, the TE 30 is alive. if you've been playing a while, you know what a good electric will sound like when plugged in from playing it unplugged. frets and neck needed a light sanding, but nothing much. Hi Rich, after watching this video I ordered I TE 30 from Tolman which took a while to get (3 weeks) and when it arrived I was afraid to open the box and the look on the mailman’s face I think he was also afraid that the guitar was probably mangled judging by the condition of the shipping cardboard box and he swore they received it from DHL in that condition, well I opened it just so he could also be a witness in case it was damaged, luckily after taking the guitar out of the mangled box it was in perfect condition but a day later I discovered that the frets on the neck made this guitar unplayable they were sticking out so much that you could literally cut your fingers running your hand up and down the neck both sides not sure what it would cost to have this fixed but I am sure it will add to the cost of the guitar, it sounds like your guitar arrived without any issues including the frets.

@@RichBischoff thanks for the reply! It sounds and looks awesome. I have seen some neck issues (warping) when I was doing some research about the guitar. Do you have any issues with it?
