Replaced my adjuster with a baker manual “attitude adjuster” after a 2000 mile trip, the stock auto adjuster quite literally ruined the transmission due to over-tightening…. The main bearing that goes into the transmission, yes the one that’s pressed in, that hole was so sloppy, when the mechanic went to install a new one, the bearing simply fell out…. Case had to be completely replaced. Cool thing is, ever since I installed the baker adjuster…. Only had to actually adjust it twice since.

Running a stock basket, stock compensator with a barnett clutch, HD spring on 106 stroker twin cam drag bike with a giant slick. Over 200 passes. Does 10.60 in the 1/4 mile. No problems. But my buddies have exploded multiple M8 stock baskets with built motors at the track on street tires. M8 ones seem to be much weaker.
@cavscout62

10:60 is quick for a 106 stroker no doubt however there are plenty of big cube M8 strokers on the street that are much quicker. I believe that’s the people he’s speaking to.

Kevin, i'm an OLD biker my idea of riding is the old US Highways like US rt1 or US rt4 etc i live on the New Hampshire and Maine Coast, so i spend a lot of time riding in small coastal towns in New England and twisty coastal routes with speed limits of 25mph to 35mph with short bursts on interstate roads, but the reason i'm writing is i love the challenge of Slow riding practice, the police rodeo style riding, what type of clutches do you recommend for that type of riding ?

OMG... As usual, your videos are timely and spot on. I installed an American Prime Clutch into my stock basket (new bearings of course) because of one of your videos interviewing Ron. I live in San Diego, so I was close enough to have him do the basket & bearing swap - Used a Silver diaphragm spring. I ended up adding Meuller Power Clutch just a make things even easier for my 70 year old hands..... Flawless!!! Question: Since I have a 2010 96 inch twin cam, Do I even need to think about a Trask Basket? No cams yet....but will probably stop there.... Do I really have enough power to worry about it. I do drive it like I stole.... and there just might be that One Time that I decided to drop that clutch..... But it is only a 96 inch...... your thoughts please.

And I'm also getting ready to purchase a complete clutch basket setup I already installed a DD 6-speed Baker Transmission Baker already sent the compensating sprocket where's the kit I am really hoping that you can help me out on the James 131 B engine. I would rather spend an extra $1,000 with you plus the shipping and get the money to the Harley-Davidson dealer up here just because of the fact they said that wasn't enough money. Looking for an easier way to purchase are there items from you as well

Hi , as per usual, great content, very interesting, I, for one have been known to do burnouts, Anybody that is in Europe and has been to St Tropez hog rally back in the early 2000s, for doing a very large burnout, with the sound and film to prove it, On a slightly different question , has anybody ever done a V4 Harley Davidson linked the four cylinders together, As I have read about something from many many years ago, that brough superior built in such a bike, but only was a one off, I am hoping to start working on my DEUCE next month, as it as had three or four previous, some work has been done to it, but it has seen a year or so of neglect, it needs stripping down cleaning and very badly needs of maintenance, something that I am rebuilding my garage to work, so I can do the job in comfort, look forward to your next interesting content, ride and stay safe, from France

I'm so glad you spoke about using proper processes where manual work is required for fitment. People with no background in machining have no real idea of the importance of true centring & squareness of holes, or the concepts of concentricity and eccentricity of rotating parts, among many other things that are critical to functionality, reliability and longevity of service. You can't just be sticking it in the vise and taking to it with a power tool! Love your work mate, you are a true professional. Cheers from Oz. 👍👍🇦🇺

Kevin, enjoy your great content. Also enjoyed you build and move into your new work space! I know the Twin cam builds a becoming yesterdays news compared to M8 repairs or builds! But up around Northwest Illinois we are finding it hard to find shops or techs that will work on Evo’s or Twin Cams? I just picked up a 2010 FLHTCU with little over 2600 miles! Garage queen and victim of Covid. Thinking about doing a bolt on big bore to 107 or 110, without boring the engine case? I have watched most of your 96 builds and cannot find any builds from 96 up to 110? Maybe this is a topic for content? Since there are plenty of 96 and 103 bikes waiting to be WOKE? I trip over them all over my area? Owners want new bikes in bigger displacement! In my case at 2600 miles the only problem I have found was the original compensator making all kinds of noise and upgraded to a Dark horse compensator after watching your videos! What a world of difference! Going to pull cam chest cover and do run out and see if new cams, oil pump and cam plate are recommended? But would love to see you do some big bore work without the entire machine shop equipment, like guys working out of his garage!

It's 1100 lbs and 3 wheels so no I won't be ripping up the streets with it just full throttle on strait aways or passing a big truck something like that. Thanks

They don't need them. But if you're building a hot rod motor it does. Any performance build requires performance delivery to the transmission. Nascar, tractor pulls, doesn't matter. The stock clutch set up was never designed to handle it.
