Nice tips. Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate those little details that make all the difference.

Thanks for a great video. I did this today on a 2014 Street Glide I just got, and boy was it a bugger. The wheels were never removed since it was built 8 years ago, and the antiseize had dried up, it was more like glue than lubricant. I had to beat on the axle with a wooden block and mallet, and I was afraid I was destroying something. Finally I got it out. Another weird thing is the axle has a hole through the center and a 1/2" steel rod fits right through it. Live and learn!

@Mr Digit Thanks bud! I put about 7K on it since then, so far so good. I know HD bearings can be sketchy though.

Have you tried it with the air shock pumped up? Road King has Vance & Hines true duels, and with Legend Air Shocks pumped up to max, I don't even botther with the exhaust, axle comes right out.

Is the belt pulley supposed to have wiggle in it when installed?
@jamiephillips1232 жыл бұрын
Shouldn’t have any wiggle in the pulley. The pulley hub has a bearing inside that would cause side to side movement. The axle runs through 3 bearings, 2 in wheel and 1 through pulley hub. Or it could be as simple as axle not tight enough or missing washer/spacer on pulley side. If wiggle is belt/running direction and not side to side it’s probably the rubber Cush bushing inside hub worn.

@@jamiephillips123 thanks. It definitely has some side to side wiggle. Didn't seem right to me.

What brand wrench is that and where did you buy it?
@jamiephillips1235 жыл бұрын
Hey Chris, thanks for watching the video. Hoped it would help a lot do-it-yourselfers. The wrench was bought from eBay years ago and the offset works great for the axle nut. The brand is WGB from Germany. They are other brands out there that are similar.
