I like the Dyna crossmember trick and if there's none handy matching blocks for Dyna controls are easy (and you can sell your FXR parts for more money). It's super easy to make a removable under tran crossmember, keep the oilpan, lose the silly stock FXR oil tank and run an old style (much better) sidestand off the left highway peg mount which you can leave (two high strength bolts instead of three is enough) or replace with a three hole tab cut from plate. I did that with my Evo with bagger box but a TC will bolt in place. I drilled two mount blocks cut from 3/8" plate. bolted them to my 3/8" (1/4" is fine) plate crossmember then tacked the plates, checked fit and finish welded.

Nice i been thinking of this for a while . Going slowly through what you have done and how you do it helps understand a lot. The major reason I want to is I'd like a six speed and an easy big inch motor so I can run endless hours going a little above the speed limit..lol.

Yeah that's my plan this ones for someone else once I get done with this one that's what I'm doing 96 with the six-speed and some sort of fairing or probably just the windshield

It almost seems best to find a recked dyna and use that. I've ridden my fxr stock 1200 miles from Michigan to Texas with some tbars and midcontrolls and was totally comfortable. I figure if I go a little faster with a saddle man seat and ohlins cartridges and shocks with a fork stabilizer. That makes me smile just thinking about blasting down the highway.

great video ..i have a FXR 89 bobber ..and i thinking in a twin cam . .. i have bunche parts from a first gen twin cam .. i like short stroke and big bore square engine .. but my evo is good and perfomance ..but that engine tc .. i like .. the only problem is the cam tension's .. cheers

Bad Foot, I just got a deal on an FXR. I have a 2006 Dyna with a touring cvo 110 in it. I would love to pick your brain about swapping everything over to the FXR frame.

The only thing from the dyna that would fit is the motor you have to change the transmission case inner and out of primary the primary guts would work to if you got a shorter chain

will a tc 88a touring model drivetrain bolt right in without frame mods? was planning on doing this to my 89 frame and running oil pan delete plate and running oil lines to stock fxr oil bag.

Yes if you delete the oil pan you do not have to do any major mods to the frame to run that drivetrain and being how it's a 99 drivetrain you can use your swingarm still

I’ve got a 94 FXR I want to put a six seed on it a twin cam is cool but I don’t see what’s to bad about the evo I see six’s with a 103 I’m thinkin’ that’d run good but not sure what to do the less money with the most power is what I’m trying to go for the bike has 14’s in the back and 15” MX T bars I was told I need to get longer springs in the front so it sits right there saying about 2” I beat the hell out of it I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area live in Pacifica so I’m the guy that splits in traffic at 90/120 pinged out and taking the hills like it’s a street bike like a gsxr or r1 or some rice burner then I’ve got a 2001 dyna fxdxt I’ve got the fxr naked but I bout a oem fxrt farring I’m all confused
