I'm disappointed at the state of the cage because of how well looked after Harley is. If you weren't already aware, the bare minimum size for any hamster is 100x50. The paper bedding is fine, a lot of people prefer it to wood shavings and most people buy wood which is harmful to their immune systems unless it's made of hemp or other things. Unfortunately I didn't know much when I got my first hamster and bought some snak shack brand items but I'd looked up the enclosure sizes and stuff and you can even just use large fish tanks or get a cheap guinea pig/rabbit cage and put wire mesh over the bars. Instagram is brilliant for looking at examples of cages! Bedding needs to be 8 inches minimum WHEN compact, since these are burrowing animals. Good luck with your hammy
