@@VPCustoms how did you guys get the front brake master cylinder to rotate into position? I have those same bars and mine have a big flat built into the bars where the master cylinder sits. But with my bars in the right position for my arms the front brake is way down in the front. I think I’m gonna have to grind stock off bars to in order to let my master cylinder clear so I can rotate it back

Great video, Tanya an Eric... Those trips you went on looked amazing.. Thank you for the shout-out, Eric !!!! The pictures and small videos were amazing.... My 2005 night train is carburated, which was the last year for that night train, 2006 they went full EFI in the night train... In 2008, they went to EFI. for all Harley Davidsons. Since you two have go-pro's, and when it gets warmer, you should take a small ride with the go-pros recording. I felt like I was hanging with you two tonight...

You're welcome Brad!! That's great info, I wasn't certain on the years, so thank you for clarifying! We absolutely plan on doing some rides with the go pros and having audio for you to hear us yapping! 🤣
@nighttrainryder73392 жыл бұрын
Actually I have a 06 and 2006 was the last year that you could choose carb or EFI.. so when I search parts for my 06 they have the option for FXSTB which is carbureted, then FXSTBI for injected which is what mine is.. so the 2007 model was the year Night Trains went fuel injection only. And I could be wrong but I also believe that 06 was the first year for the 200 rear tire.

I have really enjoyed Amsoil in my Heritage, especially in the Primary and Trans. I have noticed a difference on the how smooth the shifting is. I have one of those orange funnels with a drain at the end. Got it off Amazon. It works really well. My two biggest projects were the 14" handlebars and putting True duals on. On each one I got stuck and had to ask a friend to come over to help on one area. I also use Cardo and love it. I have had mine since 2018. I think you guys will enjoy the Cardo.

I used to be a guy who put whatever in his car or bike. However that changed once I actually began watching videos and doing research on oils and how they break down when the vehicles get hot .... especially twin cams. I now only run Fully synthetic Amsoil 20/50 in the engine...... Amsoil primary in the primary and Amsoil tranny in the tranny. Loved it so much I became a independent dealer for Amsoil just to get it cheaper 🤣 For me I noticed immediately cooler oil temp readings.....smoother shifts and easier to find neutral. No matter my miles, I change all three fluids and also do a brake flush every spring. Also if I remember right the 99 and 2000 were carb only. Then in 2001-2006 it was carb or efi option...??? Then in 2007 they were efi only till 2009...... I think from what I've researched....lol

Plenty of excellent modern oils available. I tend to use the HD Fluids at the HD Dealership because it's convenient, but have also used Redline Products. Have never had any issues. Harley 3-hole oil changes, routine maintenance: IMO the most important thing is to do ensure it gets done, and with the correct type & ratings of the oils...be it the initial 1K mile service, then at 5K miles and every 5K after that (re: 10K, 15K, 20K, etc.). Or, and depending on what part of the country you're in (environment, seasons, extreme temperatures, etc.), how much riding, how many miles...once a year minimum, sometime during the spring, right before or start of riding season...just for peace of mind, reliability and safety. These are all my suggestions, as I go one step beyond and perform an additional oil/filter change for just the engine oil in between the 1K/5K (done at 3K), 5K/10K (done at 7500miles), 10K/15K (done at 12,500miles)...you get the idea. Hi I'm looking to buy my first Harley Davidson and I was looking at a 2008night train I've been watching alot of your videos an have been wondering if the night train is a good bike to own.. I see you have a lot of fun on your 01 and 07 night trains.. I have heard about some plastic parts that could be a problem an that could be swapped out.. but over all what is your advice?on the bike..

Hey there! It's a very solid platform to have! I believe the plastic piece you are speaking of is the cam tensioner. They had that sorted out for sure by 2008. You will love the bike, they are getting much harder to come by! Good luck!

I just picked up a 2005 night train special edition and it’s carbed. I think they switched to fuel injection only in 2006

Thanks for that! Cool little fact

I think Harley eliminated carbs and went to full fuel injection on 2007 with the introduction of the 96" engine. My 2004 Night Train is carbed, my 2009 Street Glide is injected
