There was a service bulletin it needs to be centered and the oil hot. Level should be at the full mark for center stand which is about 1/4 inch up the dip stick.

Just did my 1st service, the three quart thing is mandatory on the center stand. It will spill over, so run it for the 10 seconds and in my case I was at the low end of the stick. So I added another 1/2 quart and I rode it to operating temp. I'm on the hi side of the stick with the hot oil, so probably 3.25 quarts if you want the center of the stick I'd say. This is threading in the stick down as shown here. Thank you BTW, appreciate this content Sir!

You caan use Screaming Eagle Syn3 20/50 oil too. It's stated in the Owners Manual.

the manual calls for 20W50, just wondering what resource did you find to use 15W50 oil

Service Manual says you can use 15w50 or 20w50 synthetic. It also says you can use 20w50 standard but it is only Good. Other two are listed at better.

Why not drill out the skid plate to see the drain plug?

It's only 6 bolts and takes a minute to take off

The skid plate is not over the drain plug, just the oil filter

The manual states to ONLY fill the bike to the ADD QUART MARK which is the bottom line on your dipstick.. You are not supposed to add more after that.. When you check the oil later on it is supposed to be immediately after riding and reaching 180 or above OR Idling that bike for 10 minutes... At that point the oil will expand and be in the proper area... My bet is the Poster here.. overfilled their bike.
