The costumes make sense from a psychological perspective. She's breaking people down into archetypes with manipulation and the costumes enforce it. It's kinda like cult tactics, especially the one where she got the guy to useless sort christmas lights. Reconditioning a person by forcing them into routines, to manipulate their dopamine center is a very real and documented tactic for cults.

This may not be the first time we've seen a radically different interpretation of Harley Quinn (see the Telltale Batman game series!), but I welcome any different interpretation if done well. In Batman:CC, the intention was to invert Harleen Quinzel and Harley Quinn. Normally, Harleen is the serious psychiatrist while Harley Quinn is the fun-loving psychopath. But here, Harleen is a quirky psychiatrist while Harley Quinn is the sinister jester who uses her psychiatry skills for malicious purposes. And I think that's a really fresh take! For people who are thinking "They finally remember Harley Quinn is a psychiatrist!", while this take certainly seems like it, I like to imagine that most versions had Harley Quinn as a sort of escape for Harleen to let loose when she really wanted. That said, Harley using psychology against people is a very interesting idea, and I'm really glad they went for this sort of sharp contrast. It does make me wonder how an actual Golden Age Harley Quinn would've been like, especially since Golden Age villains were meant to be far more one-dimensional than their modern day counterparts.
@JDog26565 ай бұрын
Well her applying her psychiatry as Harley Quinn would sort of detract from her whole deal as the victim of an abusive relationship with the Joker. Someone as intelligent as that wouldn't be so vulnerable if she didn't already have a few screws loose.
@DSMister5 ай бұрын
@@JDog2656 Well, I wouldn't consider those mutually exclusive. Harley Quinn could theoretically still try to apply psychology in ways Joker himself can't actually reach. That said, under your point of view, that is precisely why this version of Harley Quinn works so well, because she does not have any influence of the Joker with her.
