Nice, it's a bit of a turn on when you can access nice instruments without remortgaging your house... Many years ago, my first acoustic guitar was reclaimed from a trash can, and I loved it, and it loved me, and many times we embraced, and made love... 😂🌻💗🔥🙏

I had the guitar you found first but I trashed her because she cheated on me. So you basically had sloppy second "pickings" bro..... 🤣 or sloppy thirds. Get it, pickings?

I can 100% vouch for this guitar. It is an astounding instrument ( especially considering the price point ) I have other guitars ( some far more expensive ) with P90 pickups and I have to say none sound any better than these. As Benedict says, perhaps it is the combination of woods and the semi hollow body which give it its unique sound ? .... All I know for sure is I love mine. It is another amazing guitar from Harley Benton, hugely versatile and so easy to play 🙏

What is the fretboard made from, he says Amaranth but the pop up text says Pau Ferro, what did you get on yours?
@PeteAxeShields2 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewAHayes It's Amaranth Andrew, at least mine is and so is the one Benedict is playing here. I really like the look, feel and playability of Amaranth as a fretboard tone wood.

The fretboard on these is now Amaranth (Purpleheart), for the record. I just bought one a couple days ago.

I bought one in early 2023. Out of the box, the selector switch was faulty and the volume pot would cut the signal completely at random points when turning it up or down. Every string would bind in the nut when tuning; Every. Single. One. The pickups were decent, no noisier than any other P90s. If you buy this guitar, be sure to budget for a complete rewiring (including switch and pots) and replacing the nut. The neck and body on this model are excellent, fretwork is good, tuners and saddles are okay. The body is hollow and extremely light so you're going to have some neck dive. It's not too bad, though, unless your guitar strap is slippery over your shoulder. Aside from the wiring, pots, switch, and nut; I upgraded mine with graphite saddles, locking tuners, and MojoTone Quiet Coil 56 P90s (which turned out to be amazing pickups). NOW it's a great-sounding, great-playing axe.

What kinda needle’s does one need to quilt maple? Should I start by knitting softer woods and work my way to maple?

I can see misleading guitar parameters in the video, starting from 3:52 - Nut width 43mm (vs Thomann page 42mm) - Scale length 628mm (vs 648mm Thomann) - 24 frets (sorry, I can see just 22 :) )

What is the weight like on these? I'm very interested in this model, but HB are known for very heavy guitars.
@ryant36002 жыл бұрын
they're known for being heavy? I own 7 of them and none of them are any heavier than their "counterparts". My heaviest is a Epi 60s standard les paul and it's 8.9, my LP custom is 8.7 pounds, my HB sc-550 plus is 8.1 oz. which is my lightest LP style guitar. My PRS HB copy is nearly half a pound lighter than the Prs.
