I love the fact you go in depth on how to make it better than just buying bolt on products! But I can see how kids don't or can't go that in depth on a build but the fact you post good bolt on items in the description works great and covers a lot of the build. Plz keep up the great work!!

There are a lot of producers putting out "bolt on" vids. I'm notorious for calling myself an assembler since tools and engineering are minimal but you sir are a true builder. Build on! Truly setting the bar for aspiring builders.

I'm digging this series... I've done a ton of upgrades myself and started fabricating some parts myself... Keep the ones like this coming... I love the explanations on the why you choose the mods you do!!

I love the fab work Harley! I actually went along with building links, and the VP panhard setup. I've got beeftubes in front that I picked up at ECSC.

I love all kinda modifications, i have a scx10 deadbolt and I am doing some modifications with the series but I'm not gonna do all the ones, I do not need them all, BUT it definitly don't mean i don't like to see you do them! :) I mean, I'm not gonna do everything shown but REALLY enjoy see you doing, complex things or just simple ones :D Keep the great job, and do w/e you wanna do, we love to watch anyway!

As always I enjoy and look forward to these updates and upgrades. To keep the whole audience happy what if you did a budget series like you do and a more unlimited and in depth series on the same rig. I know it's more costly with two rigs but would cover both spectrums. Thanks for all you do with this hobby
@billwaid183410 жыл бұрын
I defiantly love the fabrication. I make the part I can before I buy them because I find it much more satisfying use what I made or to just modify other parts to fit my application. Great video and as always a pleasure to watch.

Great Video Harley, a good balance between technical descriptions and easy methodology, Joe average would have nor trouble following this instructable. This will no doubt assist those who are trying to improve their steering and stay in budget.

and I personally like when you do upgrades that are "highly" modified rather than bolt on because it shows easy upgrades that are stronger and personalized

Keep up the more advance in depth stuff please. You are very talented and do a great job of breaking stuff down for us novices. Anyone can RTFM and do bolt ons. Love this build. I really want one of these now to go along with my Wraith

I consider myself to be a bit more advanced and enjoy making things work that maybe weren't intended like the xr10 mod. I did mine last year trying to follow Tim's thread on RCC, honestly your video makes it pretty much plug and play I wish this was an option when I built mine. Keep up the good work your videos are easy enough for new guys to follow but still keep us old timers following along. Also digging the live feeds should I even admit I watched the 5+ hour yeti video live? Lol

Great vid, loving this series. Starting to regret following my own path for my Deadbolt upgrades - I just replaced the plastic steering hubs with Axial SCX10 aluminium ones. Personally, I'd like to see more custom fabrications mods. There seems to be plenty of vids of bolt on mods, showing fabrication mods could be something new. On the other hand, it's likely to scare a few viewers away!!
@HarleyDesignsInc10 жыл бұрын
Custom fab is by far my favorite, but like you said it scares many away. The point of this build is to try and be relatable.
@customfastrc76718 жыл бұрын
I was reading through the comments looking to see if this upgrade can be done to the front currie axle. You mentioned some lathe work needs to be done. Does the Burlie Tubes O.D need to be turned down some and do the vanquish vvds offer the same strength as the ones shown in this vid. Thsnk you.

Hey another great in-depth video! I had a question about bevel and pinion gear set ups for the axles on the wraith. I purchased the HD gear set from axial. 43t and 13t pinion and the 38t bevel and 14t set. The gear ratio in the Trans is the same as stock just all Robinson racing with a Gen 3 slipper. What do you think will work the best? The 43 in the rear axle and 38 in the front or the other way around? Thanks again for all the effort in the videos they are great.

Hey Harley, would the vanquish vvd v1 shafts hold up under some abuse? I plan to upgrade to a Holms brushless setup and I already have vanquish scx10 knuckles and c hubs as well as the titanium tierod and don't want to buy wraith knuckles and c Hubs. Thanks a bunch.

Nice show :) At 2:24 I see the original axle housing slightly open at the top. Does the new added part stop that from closing properly and make it an entry point for water and dirt? Thanks
@briancoke30310 жыл бұрын
I think that is because he only has the bottom bolts in so its loose enough to be able to spin the tubes to line up the dot to put the bolts in.
@HarleyDesignsInc10 жыл бұрын
I just hadn't tightened up the screws yet. Everything closes up nicely.

Kinda off. How good do those wheels hold a bead and go together? I went to the link on the other vid and didn't see a price on them either? 2 or 3 piece beadlock system?
@HarleyDesignsInc10 жыл бұрын
They hold a bead well so far. The link to their website lists where you can get them and whatever dealer you like. You can can see all the details and construction styles in the video where I install them as well. They are a 3 piece.

I just did this mod not to long ago on my new Rubicon kit. Dunno... The drive train is REALLY noisy now, I'll have to get some abuse on it to really tell. I don't see why these tubes cannot already be drilled, perhaps offer them both ways. And, for another $50 offer up the axles precut as well. I do a lot of custom fabrication on my rigs, but I found this one tedious and would have preferred to pay someone to cut the axles to length.
@DargoDog9 жыл бұрын
DargoDog Also, not sure if this is normal with this mod, but I had to ship the axles at the hubs to remove the play that was in them.

How does this mod compare to currie axles? I know it's a lot cheaper but do the curries perform better? Btw just installed my battery tray you showed a few vids back, just what i was looking for. Keep up the great work.
@fr8cture10 жыл бұрын
curries are just a fancy stock scx10 housing. they are not splined and run stock scx10 components.
@brianhilligoss10 жыл бұрын
Noticed that after I posted. For some reason I thought they had a different hub setup.
@fr8cture10 жыл бұрын
brian hilligoss you can modify curries to fit wraith hubs but it would require a lathe and such.

how come the burly tubes you're using are straight, but if you go to his web site the stock ones have a notch in them? Did you actually use the U4 ones?

The stock length ones do not have the notch because you cut that area of the housing off. He just has the picture of the standard tubes on the stock version listing.

Would the VP VVD Axles work instead of modding the XR Universals?
@HarleyDesignsInc9 жыл бұрын
Steve Oh No because the stub axle for a SCX is different than a XR/Wraith. A set of SCX inner shafts and a Wraith stub axle may work and that is what I may try next as I broke a shaft in Canada. So we may find out in the next couple weeks!
@Scuroater9 жыл бұрын
