Great lesson, as a bass player I found this great because obviously we are always thinking scales for solos and walking bass lines

If I could go back in time I would study the bass and drums- all the essential musical knowledge required for elite level soloing comes from you boys! Cheers for your kind comment. Charles

Thank you for this one, I was looking for a nice tune to teach my student, but now I'm the one that should study all of this too! Also loving that guitar bro, what a great one!

@@CharlesHarrisonMusicTuition Really thankful for your great channel. I'm just getting "back in shape" covid and other things put me away from "real practicing" but well, it happens to all I guess one a moment or another.

I noticed you're playing a 7 string, I'm thinking of buying a seven string and am wondering how it has affected your comping and lead playing, have you found a big difference in using the extra string or is it something that you don't use much, also is it useful for playing in a fusion style, similar to Allen Holdsworth?

I must confess after 2 years I probably play it as a six string with the occasional trick up its sleeve, however I have begun the process of trying to incorporate more seven string voicings and scales. I'm hoping this will eventually become intuitive but I'm expecting it to takes months and years rather than weeks and want it to be an organic process so I don't get distracted in the moment by the thought of adding a seven string trick. I think it should boil down to whether it is functionally useful (like for metal players) or if it a tone that appeals to you. I have always loved the baritone frequencies and this allows me to dip my toe in that as a six string noob! Hope that helps, cheers!

hey what are the 3 scales for jazz?
@CharlesHarrisonMusicTuition
@CharlesHarrisonMusicTuition 20 күн бұрын
@@jerembismuth8200 You only 'need' the major scale. The melodic minor scale and harmonic minor scale are nice, but not essential, additions once you have mastered the major scale. Cheers

Hi Ernie, you'll find the scales video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/imfSf2icpZyEl5o and you might want to check out this playlist for more content on chord scale relationships: kzbin.info/aero/PLiuUxStIiQdm-qa_z1EPJLLnLroM6AOtK Many thanks for your comment, please let me know if neither of those is what you are looking for!
