How is your actuators compared to drives driven by steppermotors?

Hi alikePC, The Harmonic Drive strain wave gear actuators area high precision drives for positioning tasks. Their core component is a strain wave gear, which is a backlash free gear with excellent transmission accuracy (typically < 1 arcmin) and high gear ratios (from i = 30 to i = 160). In combination with a brushless AC synchronous motor the motor gear combinations reach excellent positioning accuracy. Please have a look at our youtube videos for more information. Due to its operation principle only a minimal step angle can be driven, which limits the positioning accuracy and hence the applications of a stepper motor.
