i agree wholeheartedly that julien donkey boy was a masterpiece. but i don't know if I can even compare it in the same style as gummo. gummo was a masterpiece in it's own right and it said what it had to say. both are pretty equal in my books.

He speaks in such a farfetched manner, but the weird part is just how true it all is. He just doesn't sound believable at all, it's weird to listen to. Oh, and Gummo having an 80 million budget... that was the most non-joking joke I've ever heard.
@L33PL4Y3 жыл бұрын
Oh no, tons of what he says is joking b.s. Watch "Into the Night with Harmony Korine and Gaspar Noe," he tells this whole story about a stripper he saw as a teen in Nashville with an elongated tailbone and says it's a true story, whereas here (filmed a few years before Into the Night with...) he claims he just saw a stripper with an elongated tailbone in Austin. He's constantly mixing joked in with truth so it's virtually impossible to tell what's true and what's not. The point is that it doesn't matter what is and isn't true, the point is to tell interesting stories and captivate people.

I would not have guessed Harmony Korine did Mr Lonely. The trailer gives me more Tim Burton vibes. Like later Tim Burton. For adults.

I'm not a fan of his work because some of his imagery is negative and I can't stand deviant art...but after he told the story of his house burning down with the script and he sent the hard drive to Nasa and only got one sentence back...it's funny..the sentence was..."the speech is pointless, and the finger is speechless"...because that explains film editing exactly. Maybe the universe was trying to tell him something....

I think Spring Breakers might be a little bit like Kids. I'm pretty eager for it to come out. Harmony Korine is such an amazing and unique director and writer. Does anyone know where to find his novel?
