It's nice of you to order something so your cat can have a cardboard box to sit in. Very considerate, great video as always Ola.

Good video footage. I was wondering if you could recommend some good material on the armor of knights and sergeants for the years 1330-1340. I'm recruiting a sergeant for Count Orlandeby's militia for Germany.

Hey! Great Video as always! Would it be possible for you to make a Tutorial on how to make the arming jacket? You showed just a little bit and I know its a great amount of work to make such a tutorial, but I really like your approach to it and it looked nice!

only 37kg with (i assuming) just the bascinet on is actually pretty light with all that mail. my (sport optimised) harness weighs in at 35kg without any mail or weapons so thats actually pretty cool. but a little question about the vembraces the arms are absolutely goregeous however arent they a tiny bit to long? i feel pretty inefficient movement wise when the arm harness is that close to my wrist. i do not know the exact measurements or the exact effegie this is based on (however effegies can also be a bit wrong in that regard) just my 2 cents as a fullcontact profighter.

37 Kilograms = 81.57 Pounds. 40 Kilograms = 88 Pounds Pretty heavy. All that additional chainmail really adds up. I typically see 14th century repro plate harness around 65 lbs. The reinforced tournament harness typically weighs more, of course.
@juanmiguelpalacioesteban559114 күн бұрын
Could you show how.is.dressed a full.chainmail suit, (hauberk+sleeves+gloves+full head and face+over chest adittional cover+long skirt till knees+mail trousers its weight, ...and perhaps with gambach/gambesson reinforced with mail under the armor (on mortal parts like neck, undershoulder, stomach, sexuals, and arm/legs joinings...and a couple pf movements for seeing how it works.
@JensBoernerАй бұрын
Hm. Based on what do you date those to mid 14th century? I mean, neither the gauntlets, nor the leg harness really is. It's more 1360-70s.

Hi, I have a question regarding the use of what looks like a Bishops mantel covering the breast plate at the beginning of the video. I have been searching for information on its use in the 14th century and everything is telling me that this would be used in the 15th and a Maile standard would be used in the 14th. Is this correct or could a Bishops mantel be used in the 14th century as well? Or are they essentially the same thing but different names?
