Harold López-Nussa Trio - Live at Fraser

December 4, 2017 - Cuban jazz pianist Harold López-Nussa performs live at WGBH’s Fraser performance studio in Boston with his brother, Ruy López-Nussa on drums, and longtime friend and collaborator, Gastón Joya, on bass. WGBH Jazz 24/7 host Tessil Collins sat down with Harold before his set to talk about performing with this particular trio, following the jazz scene in the U.S. while living in Cuba, and making the transition from playing Classical music to jazz.

Saw his trio at North Sea Jazz, Rotterdam. Great performance. Guests musicians Pedrito Martinez percussion and vocals, Gregoire Maret harmonica. Everyone was flabbergasted.

The video director should go back to school. The drummer plays an amazing Solo and the camera from behind (where you don't see what the drummer is doing) is out of focus and then you see the hands of Harold (the pianist) who accompanies his brother's solo. If there is an amazing drum solo SHOW THE DRUMMER and stop playing creative.
