Mysleivecek was a bohemian composer who was active mainly in Italy. he was a fiend of Mozart and their styles have much in commo. He wrote many operas: we have here some ouvrtures, which show the vigor of his style. He died relatively young in Rome.

At 18:00 to 18:04, Mozart took that sequence and used it in the Queen of the Night (Der Holle Roche) aria towards the very end. Sneaky Mozart...

Very fine composer sounding remarkably similar to Mozart. Thanks for posting this most enjoyable and unfamiliar music.

To be more precise, it would be better to say Mozart sounds remarkably similar to Mysliveček (1737-1781). What is not a surprise, as Mysliveček was a "family friend" of the Mozarts.

By picking out just one composer out of 10,000 being active in the same period, this particular one seems to be all too genial, since we don't know who has helped paving the road. Mozart was a big fan of music by Pieter(Pierre) van Maldere, Josef Mysliveček, to name just a few very important composers.

Tyhle předehry jsou spíš jednověté symfonie. Škoda, že Mysliveček přednostně (i když nejenom) komponoval opery, jeho dílo tak vyniká méně, myslím si.

I love your country and its incredible contributions to world culture for such a small nation. Wish I could read Czech. I know some Polish, but it doesn't seem to help here. Thanks, Czechia, for all the wonderful Baroque (Zelenka, et al.) and Classical (Rosetti, Gyrowetz, Kozeluch) composers, Smetana, Suk: and of course, the incomparable Antonin Dvorak. I think you mention the importance of his operatic work?

Mozart hold in great esteem Mysliveček that influenced him like Johann Christian Bach . But I do believe that Mysliveček's music is more creative and energic than Johann C. bach. The both have the the merit to have nourished the yoyng Mozart
its Prague, the capital city of Czech Republic (before Kingdom of Bohemia) , Mysliceček is a Czech (Bohemian) composer so that´s why.
