Somehow the KZbin algorithm suggested me this. Now I'm so glad I stumbled upon your video. I have to say, this is my first time hearing this piece and also my first time hearing, from start to finish, a harp performance so captivating. Your performance brings tears to my eyes and reminds me of childhood memories that I hold dear. Thank you. Sorry if I made any mistakes with my English. Still trying my best to take command of the language.

Thanks for Your very positive comment! :-) Like all professionals, I started learning to play the harp as a child at 8 years old. Before that, I had been playing the piano for 4 years. But those of my students who study with me from the very beginning achieve tremendous success very quickly. I use my own teaching method, and You can see the results here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGrIlaZqZZ15fsU kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3m0qGZpoLaHZpI kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5LFZYSDh519gpI kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWKbl4KkrJWia6M

@@harpvio I noticed that in Variation III, the left hand is played in harmonics and it sounded incredible. I am learning to play this piece for my ABRSM Grade 8 exam but found it incredibly hard to do the harmonics throughout (always missing the harmonics here or there and it sounded terrible with some notes in the wrong octave). Does "sons harm." written under the left-hand score means the whole Variation III needs to be played in harmonics in the left hand? Thanks.
@harpvio3 жыл бұрын
@@vaunfun2939 Yes, the left hand in Variation III has to be played in harmonics. :-) You should consider natural and flat notes when playing harmonics. They are played at different heights - flat notes are higher than natural notes. I could help You with learning this piece if You would like. I give online master courses and lessons. Let me know if it is interesting to You. You can find more information about me, my students and my method here: harpschool.de/

Any harp will sound good in the hands of a professional. For a beginner, you can buy any used harp, the main thing is that the mechanics are in good condition. However, to be able to play this piece by Glinka, you need to find a good teacher and practice very hard for 7-12 years. ;-)

Is this based on the Magic Flute or Don Giovanni? I thought this was based on Papageno's glockenspiel, but it doesn't sound like it (?)
@99AJN7 жыл бұрын
It is the Glockenspiel obbligato to the chorus of slaves (Act I finale), but re-cast as a binary movement with filled-in harmonies. (|: a :| |: b a' :|) The binary form makes it especially suited for variations.

These videos are commonly MADE BY long haired pretty blondes who easily get a million views in a year because of their "talent." This amazing harp player, apparently, has "no talent." We humans are taught to look Outside, not Within. Therefore we appreciate the Outer, not the Inner. Just saying.

Apart from you nobody has suggested that she has no talent. Quite the contrary; she is highly regarded and appreciated. You are talking highfaluting nonsense, including your baseless comment about the preponderance of "long haired pretty blondes".

I think what he wants to say is, that she really has talent. But she doesnt get that much attention because she is not blond and blue-eyed.
