I sang background vocals on this song on the Verities and Balderdash album. I really miss Harry. He was a great guy and a great humanitarian. One of my favorite songs.

I first saw this song on the Muppets. This song makes me feel really happy... so good I could cry.

Me too! I had to google this after seeing it on the Muppets to see if this was a real song.

@@redsoxfan1982 Scooter did a great job on this! But the Smothers Brothers also did a great version. It takes talent to play badly on purpose, hahaha!!!

"Eat your heart out Eric Clapton" is the funniest thing he could have said. I love this song so much.

I am still annoyed that he died but at least it was something like one of his songs, having a heart attack AND driving off the edge of a road into a steep embankment. Didn't do anything half ways. How many great stories we lost. More than any other singer I can think of he would take an often mundane event in the life of an average person and turn it into a fabulous story. Glad to see he made it to KZbin.

It's a shame the crowd did not get Harry's humor! What a great guy! And it was a great loss!

Harry is the only singer I like to listen and watch "live" like this, rather than listen his music from CD :)

its easy to learn how to play the guitar and play it well, its another thing to go and play a song and intentionally play it bad and still make it sound good

Oh Harry. My wife and I were talking about this song today so I searched it up. Harry used to play at the college mixers where I met my wife. In fact, after one of his sets he came up to the bar and put his hand on my shoulder and said we were a good looking couple and shook my hand and gave my wife a kiss on the lips! I had him sign my T-shirt and i still have it. Gone too soon. You can always count on th echeap seats.

ROFL!!! Reminds me of Victor Borge --- once you're genuinely *good*, it's got to be hard work to go back and sound convincingly "bad". Harry, you're giving all of us "musical hacks" hope, even from the Great Beyond! Great post!

What I really love about this song is it isn’t just the guitar playing nobody can’t stand - it’s THE WHOLE DAMN THING. (BTW, I’m pretty sure, as funny as this is, Harry was partly inspired to write SSO because reviewers were already (remember, same album as C’sINC) savaging his work up to that point. Even Harry sardonically referred to himself as ‘a 3rd rate singer singing 4th rate songs’. So he dealt with that negative criticism in a positive, humorous way, and all of us are the better for it.
