They’re treated like royals by both the government and the press. The city officials and governors give them just about anything they want. While one police force put out they were denied police escort that wasn’t true across the board and they were given some support. The governor not only answers his calls but helps him out and that mayor took time off just to walk around with them while his city was still burning and couldn’t praise them enough. NYC promised them extra police protection any time he visits and have assigned multiple police vehicles just to escort him around. Then there’s the press that has been fawning all over them. They practically called them saviors and stopped reporting on the fire to report on the Sussexes. The people might feel very differently but do you really think Harry cares as long as the people in power are still bowing down to him and giving him what he wants?

What astounds me is that many children lost a parent in tragic circumstances, me included. My father died whilst having a knee replacement he was in his 50’s, he died as a result of hospital negligence. Im from the UK but although many of our American friends are respectful to our genuine working royal family they fought for independence many years ago so what makes Harry believe he has any impact or should be revered in the States. He's no longer considered royal in UK either

I don’t think harold felt trapped. I honestly believe that he was insanely jealous of Prince William and everything that he had by virtue of being first born. I also think that he believed the lies his wife told him about them being more popular than the Wales and that they could be global billionaire superstars. He didn’t realize that people were only interested in them because of their connection to royalty. Bill Simmons of Spotify even said so. Hopefully it will dawn on him eventually. He recently admitted to the interviewer in New York that he’s tried to get meetings with Zuckerberg and many CEOs but they won’t return his calls. He seemed perplexed by that.🙄

I'm British and respectfully Ms Godfrey I think they are celebrities, at least in the US. If you define personal celebrity as a person who attracts the attention of the media who then give rise to their public exposure on TV and in Newspapers and Glossy magazines etc., then they (mainly she) more than amply qualify. That is the problem here, as Companies like NETFLIX etc., are willfully keeping them on (financial) "life support" long after the "life" switch should have been turned off. Presumably with NETFLIX they are hoping to recoup some of their Shareholder's lost $ Millions by having 1st access to her threatened book of bile on our Royal Family and from which their scriptwriters can develop it into a further, or probably more, series of The Crown for mainly American consumption. This is sad, as your own previous Heads of State, like the Clintons (fellatio Bill & Killary) and the Kennedy's (the whole Clan nearly) could provide NETFLIX with many Seasons of true smut, but as with dogs, or indeed pigs, they won't defecate in their own home or sleeping area. No, they are Celebrities and much, much more.
