Actually the cut part is less than 10 seconds, because in the movie they show the part when they are coming in and then pass to when the Carrows are watching... They only don't show the part when Harry goes ahead and takes Ginny's hand

I can actually kind of see why they might've wanted to cut this one. If I remember correctly, Harry reveals himself to Snape in a surprise moment. Having this here to let the viewer know that Harry is there before that moment could really lessen its value to the audience.

Harry and Ginny were badass and cool together in the books. In the movies they kept Ginny the way she was as a kid the whole time. Or at least that's how I thought they felt. Ginny was definitely a lot more different than she was as a kid in the movies. The first time we see Ginny and Harry interact in chamber of secrets she'd shy and runs away, but in Half Blood Prince she's commanding and always makes the first move (even if it always looked silly). What sucks is we never got to see Ginny transition into this confident character and she's barely allowed to shine with Harry or independent of him like Ron and Hermione do

The movies did a terrible job with the Harry and Ginny relationship. It's a slow burn relationship through the book series the comes together finally in the sixth book. But in the movies, it's came out of no where. Also, It pissed me off that Ginny was ALWAYS the one to initiate things, when in the books Harry also wanted to be with Ginny. Infact, it stated that he's the "happiest he's even been" when he was with Ginny.

First kiss in the books was better, but I wished there was a sentence of Ginny's reaction to Harry kissing her. Everyone needs to calm down. The movies will NEVER be exactly like the books. We can also take in to account that Rowling reads every script of the Harry Potters BEFORE they even start filming. She is the one who actually gets the movie in motion. She approves everything they put into the script. I think the films do the books justice. All the films are AMAZING and better than a lot of movies now day's in my opinion. Again, the movie will NEVER be exactly like the books. I think that you should view them as separate pieces of art. The books are the books and the movies are the movies. They are both fantastic and all true Potterheads should admire them for what they are.

People often blame the direction, which is true but I don't think the actress was right for the part, other than in COS when she was written as a shy character.

I'm pretty sure the reason they dropped this scene is because they wanted to add more shock value to the scene where harry steps out of the group of students to confront snape. If they kept this scene in then the other scene would lose its vigor. They should have developed ginny and harry's relationship in other better ways. In my humble opinion this was a good cut for what it did in the later scene.

If you're looking for how Ginny and Harrys relationship should have been done, watch the movie. I was so disappointed in there relationship in the books because of how pointless and underdone it was, but in the movies they are really cute together.

Depends on which version. Theatrical it's not, but the version they play on tv (of most the series) has a few deleted scenes added in. I think it has something to do with adding/cutting time based on air time for ads

This is pretty awesome! I honestly loved Harry and Ginny's relationship in all the films! They did amazing with their relationship in my opinion and their relationships really developed super strong. I loved both films and books equally and I could understand why they can't add everything in the movies so I wouldn't complain about it and would just respect it. Also book Ginny was amazing and badass and movie Ginny was amazing and badass. Same with every single characters in the books. They were all amazing and equally badass in the movies. I could never compare them with books and movies because both are equal to me and I am not gonna favor one over the other. It feels wrong for me to do that. I'm sure some people will disagree with me but I don't give a fuck. I am just being honest and I am a real true fan. Their relationship was pretty strong in the movies just like it was in the books and I could see that. Harry is really brave for risking his life in getting caught. I also loved the directors and the cast. I don't hate any of them or hate any of the characters. The villains are the ones we love to hate but don't actually hate from the series. And the way they kissed in the movies? YES YES YES YES! I loved the kiss scene in the books and movies equally but ngl I kinda preferred the kiss in the movie than I did with the books. I feel like their kiss in the movie was more romantic, passionate, sweet, and awkward. That's how me and my bf always kiss. I respected that they didn't kiss in front of everyone and why both scenes were different. Don't expect any complaints or criticisms from me about any Harry Potter series cause I'm a Potterhead forever.

Actually Neville and Luna didn't end up together as Hermione was like Molly, Ginny was like Lily and Luna was like Alice longbottom (Neville's mother) Neville decided to do something different so he ended up with Hannah Abott. And Luna ended up with Newt scamander's grandson Rolf scamander.

It’s not deleted. You can see this scene now in Peacick with a whole slew of other deleted scenes. My personal favorite is Mrs Dursley cracking eggs and the letter to Harry comes out of each shell. Brilliant effect. Peacock!!!! Extended viewing.

Good decision. It gives the scene of Harry showing up among the students wearing the robe of Gryffindor but not his entire uniform a VERY strong impression and it gives a strong symbol he came back but not for studying. ... Even if Severus Snape is getting spit at again right aftern when he experienced so many things. I imagine fan fics where he gets on Harry's side back after Minerva starts the duel and he only use defensive spells to hurt the 2 Death Eaters INSIDE the Castle. But JKR's writing is probably the best among what I read as a hobby, far ahead before mangas. I do not approve her controversial behavior though, but I still respect her for this world and her personality fighting depression.

theyre not hiding it. special effects would have been added to the green screen in post production. as they choose to delete this scene they didn't add any special effects since this scene wasn't in the final cut shown in theaters anyway. would have been a waste of their time
