Of course when I get into this couple things go haywire. I like James. I like James with Harry but the lack of them means something and I don’t like it. I feel bad for the hate Harry gets because it’s indirect to Parry and the poor lad is just doing his job. He is a decent actor and he nor Gregory are being used to appreciate their craft.

This storyline is doing my head in! James, had he been a proper lawyer, would have known not to be the least bit worried by Mac`s remarks about what his lawyer "said." Why this is being handled as civil suit, and not as criminal prosecution, as a result of Cindy reporting Mac for deception with fraudulent intent, is beyond me. The fact Cindy was in a mental institution when she signed the papers, would make it more likely she would signed Mac a power of attorney - to act on her behalf while she was being treated - than for her to have signed over her house to Mac for nothing. Therefore the fact there was not any money transferred between Mac and Cindy, therefore makes her claim he conned her by getting her to sign a contract she believed to have been something else, more credible, than for Cindy to have signed over her house. The fact not only Donna Marie, but Alfie, witnessed when the documents where signed - and heard Mac claim Cindy to have taken a loan with security in the house, so she could afford the private clinic would have strengthened that version significantly. Alfie being in Washington, US would not have been a problem in this day and age. He could have testified and have been cross examined via Skype. In real life any reasonably good attorney would have told Mac, the best he could do, was to let Cindy have her house back without argument, and afterwards crossing his fingers she would have settled for that, and didn`t report him to the police. By trying this case as a civil suit that might suit James` ego and need for revenge. But since it both adds cost and risk to Cindy (the police have legal tools to apply to investigations which are far more invasive and effective, than what any private investigation could legally obtain (and to be allowed introduced as evidence, the evidence has to be legally obtained)), James is certainly in a grey area legally, since he does not inform Cindy about the better option, with greater chance of success, of reporting Mac to the police for deception with fraudulent intent, and also for serious fraud. An option which would have left both the cost of, and necessary steps in, the investigation, plus the ditto of the prosecution, to the police and the CPS - and not Cindy herself. Even if James is representing Cindy for free, the fact the police and the CPS would be a more natural choice for this type of case, could mean James would be found to be in breach of ethical guidelines by misleading Cindy more than he is helping her, just for the satisfaction of he himself getting to put Mac behind bars. Should that be the conclusion, James could lose his license to practice law, if he should lose the case, Cindy`gets to hear about the option James has kept hidden from her - evoking the police and the CPS - and she reports him for having misrepresented her case, and given her inaccurate and insufficient legal advice.

It's never a good idea to think about things like logic and reality and the real world when you're watching a soap. :-)
@Tvjunkieful12

@@mckinnb311 I beg to differ. When the topics and setting are intended to reflect real life types of people, situations and issues, not having them do so reduces the quality significantly. Not to mention the danger viewers can be misinformed about real life issues and more, because they assume characters and storylines to reflect real life and the people in it.

well Hollyoaks is the most Unrelistic soap. and Soap are not meant not for real life situatuation. who said they are. can you give me a source. please. no offence but i think you should try Reality TV or another Soap like Eastender or Corrie (they more realistic). maybe Made in Chelsea. this my favourite soap and tv show (i don't really watch anything else other than sports, you a sports fan) and It ruin it for me when someone complain about how the show being "unrealistic," and how the storylines are "poorly written," It's Which is why I shiver down my spine every time I see a post suggesting that. I hope you understand what i'm saying. and I respect your opinion btw. Sorry if my comment upset you and that I won't be able to reply to your any of your long comment because i'm going to find it hard. it that takes time and effort I don`t spend, unless I get paid for it. and frankly i would only do it if you pay me. Sorry. Got to go. bye. btw Take care and have i hope you have great week.

@@josephrolando5616 My main concern with Hollyoaks and many other UK soaps (Eastenders, Emmerdale, Corrie) is how they glorify violence and violent or psychopathic characters and acts, trivializes extreme types of people like serial killers and near Disneyficate them (make them appear endearing and sympathetic, the same way Disney did with their cartoon animal characters like Bambi or Dumbo, to make them connect to the audience). Real life murders and killers are nothing like what is being presented in Hollyoaks. The murder of Eva Falco, had been realistically displayed, could not have been shown on a pre watershed airing time, because of the amounts of blood and more there would have been inside that train. If you don`t know a gunshot doesn`t only have an entry hole. There is an exit one too, and the bullet is not the only object to go through it. But by neglecting to show that, Hollyoaks made the killing of Eva Falco appear a lot more clean and less brutal than it actually would have been. As a result of this, many of the comments that followed - just like with Breda killing Mac now - praised Grace for having killed Eva. Same way Breda is now being praised and idolized for having killed Mac. I very much doubt they would have done so, had that discovery scene of Eva`s dead body been more authentically depicted, or had Mac the monster not been depicted as unrealistically vile as he has been. This is again sends the subconscious message that taking lives can be justified, and that some people deserves to be killed - even if it is violently and brutally. Which again opens the door for interpretation to what could justify such measures, or what type of people should be killed off. The result of this could be what we saw in New Zealand last week, what happened in Norway 22nd of July 2011 or in the US 911 2001. People who believes themselves to be heroes for taking other people`s lives in shocking and horrific acts of terror. Which again could create a counter response, like when the US declared the War on Terror operation - which backfired drastically, and lead to the birth of the even more extreme and brutal organisation ISIS, which it took a full size war and many years to combat. Which now has left the world with the problem of what to do with the wives and children of the mostly dead ISIS terrorists, and how to prevent new groups following their ideology and goal, to adopt the same strategy of crude brutality at random soft targets. You can claim Hollyoaks is just harmless entertainment until you are blue in the face. But unfortunately, from lunatics shooting people in a cinema dressed as The Joker from Batman, to killings being directly copied from the movie Natural Born Killers, the facts show that what people see in films and on tv influences how they think, also when it comes to violence as extreme as mass shootings and murder. If you feel inconvenienced because I exercise my freedom of speech and freedom of expression by questioning, or openly criticize, SLs, characters and developments in Hollyoaks, my only advice to you is: stop reading my comments. Cause I feel it is more important to try to make people aware of why someone like Breda really kills, why Mac is depicted so extreme it doesn`t make sense for any other purpose than for viewers to feel great about him being killed off and why the killing of Eva, both from a legal and moral point of view, is deemed a worse act then what Eva did when Esther accidentally got shot. Eva was conflicted by grief and influenced by her psychopath of a father when she kidnapped the Osborne and held them hostage, and she did not plan to shoot Esther, the gun went off in the shock of Grace and O.B. storming into the room (mitigating circumstances), while Grace both planned, had long time to reflect and calm down and also chose to kill Eva in a setting, and using a metode, which in real life represented a high risk for innocent bystanders to also be harmed or killed (the total opposite of mitigating circumstances). I feel those points are important to raise, to inform those who may not know, and remind the others, what is the real life legal and moral position on many of the developments Hollyoaks blur the lines of in their storylines and characters.

@Tvjunkieful12 did my comment Upset you and make you angry. Sorry if i did. I said sorry and no offence. I said I respect your opinion and I never said stop with these comments. I was just saying my opinion. don't I have also exercise my freedom of speech and freedom of expression by questioning people. maybe you should of ignored my comment. No offence and i'm not trying to be rude here but you take a Soap far too seriously and political. I personally i don't care if Hollyoaks is unrealistic. I just enjoy the show. people should'nt tv take a tv show and copy the action any of it"s action. no offence but your long comment makes it hard to because i told you before i'm terrible at arguing and don't have time to write a long comment. can we stop here please before. before it gets messy please.

@@1beartruckr Exactly. We did get a tiny little bit of it in the Who Killed Amy storyline (even though most of that was also related to Ste). But that's why I was so happy when Harry and Ste broke up because I thought it would mean we could see a different and more interesting side of the character. But now the same thing is kind of happening where he's becoming a side character in James' life instead of Ste's. I just hope it changes I guess.
