And then there's "You're Breakin' My Heart" released shortly after "The Point". He had fans(and future ex-fans) heads spinning. What a voice though. Note: during recording Pussy Cats with John Lennon, he ruptured his vocal chords. His voice was never the same after. His song writing took a darker turn imo.

@@thetardis5763 Harry did all sorts of stuff...and after PUSSYCATS, there were quite a few great bright Nilsson songs. Think of "How To Write A Song" and "Something True" from SANDMAN(1976) and "All I Think About Is You", "Blanket For A Sail" and "Perfect Day" from KNNILLSSON (1977). Sure..his singing was definitely suffering, and some of the songs he wrote and also covered, where not up to par, but at times, he was still delivering the goods. I also enjoyed his covers of "That Is All" (George Harrison song) and "Sail Away" (Randy Newman song) from his THAT'S THE WAY IT IS (1976) album as well. I would think we'd agree that fans almost never knew what to expect next from him!! Dig, DmGrk

I'm 61 years old and have my first puppy. I had a puppy when I was about ten or 11 and my mom got rid of it. That was the time Where The Red Fern Grows came out. I saw the previews, but there's no way I could go see it. I've had dogs since then, but used from the pound or rescues, but never a puppy. Wife and kids are all gone, and now I have a puppy. Truthfully, it's the greatest joy in my life.

After hearing this in You’ve Got Mail, I was in love with this song. So when my youngest was born and would cry during bath time as an infant, I would sing this song to him and he’d stop crying. He loved when I sang this. It’s such a cute, light hearted song! And I thank Harry for giving me something that made my son’s bath time bearable for him ❤

This song always makes me cry because it reminds me of the dogs I’ve had that have passed away. Makes me think of all the good times, and the times I passed up an opportunity to take them for a walk or a car ride. I can hum it all day and be fine but the second it’s on the radio the waterworks start. Cherish your dogs like they cherish you.

I loved listening to this song in presentation in "You've Got Mail" but I also just loved singing along begging for a friend who wouldn't care more than a friend should. Now I have a puppy who cares about me. Comes to my side when I cry. He chose me by pulling on my pant leg when I went to go look for different pup in the litter. I wanted a girl. Smaller. "Easier to control." That lie we tell ourselves about bitches. Dreams are wishes. If wishes were fishes, the sea would be full and happy. The people would be fed.
