Harry Potter 20th Anniversary Return To Hogwarts | Behind The Scenes

Twenty years after the first movie came out, a huge number of the cast and crew from over the years returned to reminisce and make even more magic for us to watch on screen. What went into the making of the special? Where did all the magic take place? And how on earth did the cast feel reuniting in the place it all started two decades ago?! Exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from filming and on-set interviews reveal what it was like for actors to experience the magic of Hogwarts once more.
Were there tears? You bet there were - getting to see the real sets and their former castmates - many of whom hadn’t seen each other for years - was an emotional roller coaster, to say the least. Strange as it was though, everyone fell into old habits pretty quickly - one actor even falling into performance so easily that it felt as though no time had passed.
For the actors who were adults when they began filming, the experience of seeing the youngsters they took under their wings and cared for as if they were their children as adults was a moving experience - cue all the feels! While everyone was there to get a job done and film the special, the actors were catching moments wherever they could with their former co-stars, reconnecting. And making even more memories.
While they were back at the same studio, the place looked entirely different - except for the sets. On the filming day, there was no shortage of choreo- from the actual dancers in the great hall to the film crew that dodged around among them to capture all the action!
Overall, the special brings us even more heartwarming moments and a chance to reminisce on the incredible Harry Potter legacy. We’re team Potter for life.

Just watched this today..amazing reunion. Harry Potter was a big part of my childhood growing up and seeing this made me emotional. Miss it alot... Reading the books & then the movies made me feel like I was in it too on an adventure with them.

This movie series has affected me much more than any other series. Each and every cast of the series is amazing. I can't describe my love for this franchise in words. Friendship among the students, rivalry between Griffindoor and Slytherin, the Weasley family,cute Ron and Harmione,.... Oh! I lived opposite Leavesden Studios, when they were filming, and saw many wonderful sets going up. It has definitely changed now, but that place will always have a place in my heart and is why I became a writer. So lovely to see the reunion. Good times 🥰

It has been discussed but no actual plans have been made. The actors have not been signed and no filming has been done. The film may be made and it may not be made. Since the two Fantastic Beast films didn't do as well as they had hoped, the funding from the studio may be difficult to get.

Where is the author of all this universe?! I hope that there are some people who see the hypocrisy of these "actors". I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supports J.K. Rowling! It was she who gave us these wonderful books, thanks to which these films were made. It was mother Ro, who created this magical universe, for which we will always be grateful to her. It would be great if someone interviewed her about the 20th anniversary of the release of the first film. Here are her stories and memories, I would love to listen and watch such an issue in which she would participate. A strong and brave woman who found the strength and was not afraid to express her opinion and defend it later. PS: The most paradoxical thing is that only Evanna Lynch (Luna), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Tom Felton (Draco) and Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) stood up for J.K. Rowling... And for some reason I am sure with all my heart that if Alan Rickman were alive now, then he would have sided with her. Thank you J.K. Rowling, we remember you, and we are with you! #IStandWithJKRowling

And it was Rowling who spend 5 years with no financial support to just even create the first book. The actors are amazing, but they didn’t sacrifice anything for it and are basically millionaires before being an adults, to exclude JK is just sad, from so called tolerant people. Disgusting actually. Must have broken her heart, after all she has been through. She had to abbreviate her name to JK Rowling instead of Joanne, because the publishers were afraid people wouldn’t buy books from a woman and now she is excluded from her own reunion. So much for supporting strong woman and diversity , but only if they fit their agenda and say only the things people want to hear.

This isn't quite true. Apparently she was invited but declined. Here is an excerpt of the article: In a new interview with Graham Norton for Virgin Radio UK, she corrected the host when he mentioned she was “excluded” from the special. “I wasn’t, actually-I was asked to be on that, and I decided I didn’t want to do it,” she said, per Vanity Fair. “I thought it was about the films more than the books, you know? Quite rightly, as that is what the anniversary was about, so no one said, ‘Don’t come.’”

There were some notable people missing...particularly Jo Rowling, who only appeared in stock interviews from two years ago. I am not certain as to why Julie Walters wasn't there. No Crabb or Goyle (though I am aware that one of them has had several legal problems in the last few years) I get that they can only do so much in a 90 minute show but Jo and Julie should have been a part of it. There were many others like Kenneth Brannagh and his former wife, Emma Thompson, David Bradley, Devon Murray, Tim Spaugh, Fiona Shaw and Harry Melling just to name a few. I believe that Melling refused the invite because he is somewhat embarrassed by his breakout role and trying to forge a new path away from the Potterverse.
