Harry’s dad was not one of the brothers, as the story is much older than that. But the brothers are thought to be the Peverells, from which both Harry and Voldemort descended from. And Harry’s invisibility cloak has been handed down for generations. So Harry’s theory at this point is that his invisibility cloak is the one mentioned in the story, passed down generationally from the third brother himself, Ignotus Peverell. And you’re right with the name drops and stuff that was swiftly covered. If you read the books, these names and stories are fleshed out (especially Dumbledore and Grindelwald). They are actually really good plot points, but they are essentially just dropped in the movies. Just to tease re: this, there is a lot of BIG things about Dumbledore that you just won’t get from the movies.

There are a few things from the past movies that are brought up in this one, the most obvious being the Golden Snitch that Harry caught in his first Quidditch match. There's also the Deluminator that Dumbledore leaves Ron, it was used by Dumbledore himself in the first movie. The glowing Doe (deer) was a conjured Patronus charm, like from the 3rd film. Hermione uses the spell "Obliviate" on her parents, it's the same spell that Lockhart tried to use on Ron and Harry in the 2nd movie. Fleur Delacour returns as Bill's bride, she was one of the Tri Wizard champions in movie 4. So many more, but as your first watch I wouldn't expect you to catch them all!

They used Obliviate in the movie but in the books it was a different spell one that could be reversed whereas Obliviate is permanent.

its not explained or shown in the movies, but wormtail was killed by his own silver hand, strangled himself to death. and theres a deleted scene where harrys aunt opens up to him about her sister, and dudley shows a small scene that redeems himself just a little when they are leaving the house.

Bill delivering the news of Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody's death is worse when you know that their actors, Brendan and Domnhall Gleason, are father and son in real life. Also: Voldemort wasn't hating on Lucius' wand. Lucius fell out of favor with him because he failed to deliver the Prophecy in Order Of The Phoenix. Side note: if you don't recognize the actor who played Rufus Scrimgeour, that's Bill Nighy, also known as Viktor from Underworld and Davy Jones from the 2nd and 3rd Pirates Of The Caribbean movies.

With the ones the reason why Voldemort says that they can harm one another but not kill one another because they have the same one. The reason why Voldemort took Mr Malfoy's wand because the wands are no longer twins. So he - Voldemort - thought that it would work but do the fact that Mr Malfoy wand did not choose Voldemort. Remember in the first movie, the wand shop owner said the wand choose the wizard/witch. That was the one thing that Voldemort fail to remember.

Voldemort is not really funny. He has a very interesting character trait...even though Lucius Malfoy is a loyal follower Voldemort thinks he is pathetic, the president of a "Kiss-ass-committee", weak and without any dignity and he despises him for it. Harry on the other hand may be his enemy number 1 but Voldemort has great respect for his bravery, determination, strength and dedication for his own cause and the ability to withstand him for so long - making him a worthy opponent whom he sees eye to eye.... that´s why he mocks Malfoy so much and treats him like vermin. At some point he even tells him: 'How can you even live with yourself Lucius?'

Voldemort doesn't know which Harry is the real one, he was told by the Death Eaters that the real Harry often used the Expelliarmus spell, and Harry accidentally used it (this happened in the book)
