I like how Umbridge was never actually a Death Eater. She pretty much just told Voldemort she would help him and Voldemort didn't do anything to make her loyal to him completely. He just shrugged it off as "whatever" and let her have the power of the courts and whatnot. This proves Umbridge is extremely evil at heart than even the Dark Lord himself.

Not more evil then voldemort. She was a horrible cunt, but she never really even tried to break the rules. She was a narcissist. Its because during the events of "Goblet of fire", the paranoia made Fudge believe that everything that happened its part of a conspiracy created by Dumbledore and that the real objective of the conspiracy was that Dumbledore will try to attack the full ministry, seize the post of Fudge as the minister in order to have full control of the ministry and to dominate the magic world. In other words, fear can make you do terrible things, but instead of making it better, it will only make it worse and destroy everything, including yourself.

Things wrong with the case: 1: Dudley knew that Harry was a wizard, so that means they FORGOT a valuable witness. 2: Harry acted for self-defense, self-defense doesn’t count as a legal charge UNLESS Harry used an Unforgivable Curse in front of a Muggle, which means that the Muggle that witnessed Harry killing a Muggle was going to file a Murder Case. In this situation, self-defense was neccesary as Harry and Dudley would have lost their souls. 3: No one witnessed Harry using magic. Dudley was knocked out because of the Dementors, the squib witness only found out because Harry told her. I know, I’m a new lawyer. I’m a rookie. My first case starts in 9 days.

I love that look Madam Bones gives Fudge at the "well-rehearsed story" bit, as well as looking him right in the eye when voting to clear Harry. Kudos to Sir Michael for this performance. I do not believe Richard Harris could have performed the later instalments with such fervour and intensity. Gambon's performance is really something to behold.
@Ihdc17 жыл бұрын
Gambon is too intense. You should read the books. Dumbledore is described as being calm and composed in almost all circumstances, even when the people around him are losing their s**t. Even when he was clearly angry, he rarely showed it outwardly and was always courteous and polite, even to Fudge and Umbridge in Order of the Phoenix. In Goblet of Fire, when Dumbldore McGonagall, and Snape take down the fake Moody, there was emphasis of the contrast between Dumbledore's usual friendly nature versus when s**t truly gets real. To paraphrase: The look on Dumbledore's face was more terrible than [Harry] could have imagined. Harry realized at that moment for the first time why Dumbledore was regarded as the only wizard Voldemort ever feared. We don't quite see that contrast in the film because Gambondore is raging and yelling the whole time. In the books, the ONLY time we see Dumbledore losing his cool is when he drinks the emerald potion in the horcrux cave in Half Blood Prince. Even face to face with Voldemort in the ministry, book Dumbledore is as cool as a cucumber and duels Voldemort with ease. In the film, Gambondore seems much more frightened of Voldemort than Voldemort is of him (so much being the only one he ever feared) and struggles to hold his own. He clings to his wand with both hands for dear life in the film while in the book he is described as merely flicking it. Michael Gambon's resting facal expression seems to be a scowl so Gambondore looks perpetually grumpy and unpersonable. He is quite charismatic in the books. He looks almost as grumpy as Filch in films 3-5. The only films where Gambon did a good job as Dumbledore were HBP and DH part 2. In those films, he spoke more calmly and had kinder facial expressions. I don't recall Gambondore ever smiling in films 3-5. In the end, I think Richard Harris the better Dumbledore. He had a certain aura about him and matched the physical description of Dumbledore better. His calm, hoarse voice also suits the character better. Gambon improved his facial expressions in HBP but his rough Irish accent still sounds too surly for Dumbledore. On the other hand, Gambon would have made a perfect Aberforth in DH.

Some of you might be wondering, "Why does Cornelius Fudge grow a disliking to Harry all of a sudden?" well, it was more explained in the previous book The Goblet of Fire. at the end, Fudge was extremely unhappy about Harry telling Dumbledore that Voldemort is back. He refuses to believe that Voldemort is back cause Fudge read what Rita Seeker has said about Harry, and he thinks he's only saying this to get attention. it's kind of long and a little complicated, but hope it helps the unusual dislike toward Harry.
@FallenxMalo8 жыл бұрын
That's not the complete thing. Fudge was scared like shit Dumbledore would try to usurp him. He got more paranoid over the years and with Harry aka "Mr. 404AvadaKedavraNotFound" it would have been very difficult to stay in charge as a minister.

I'd honestly say that cutting that fight was worse than getting rid of the Quidditch World Cup! Mike Newell really fucked up The Goblet of Fire! He grouched that it was as thick as a cinder block, and that he got rid of everything superfluous in it! But then why did he unnecessarily extend the first task, even thinking of setting fire to the Forbidden Forest‽ If he cared enough about it, he would've seen that the fight was important in setting up The Order of The Phoenix!
