Thats not what killed him, he was killed because his own spell was filling back into the elder wand, this resulted in his hand going black (see the film to be able to see it), in the end, it was both spells that affected him, AV killed him and expeliarmus disarmed him.

You can see it slightly. When Voldemort looks at his wand, there a thin green thread twirling round and hitting his hand. The reason he died was because he was not the true master of the Elder Wand. And basically he failed. So he was Disarmed and killed.
