This is also a different setting. With marching band you typically have a conductor to lead you as well as several other players on the same part. In this case he is playing several different parts in one take, AND he is able to have them to line up which as a very hard achievement especially with no metronome or headphones to hear other parts.

your technique is simply superb. reminds me of high school... I played marimba then. most other videos I find are terrible because of sound quality, because they don't know the proper way to strike with the mallet. you can't simply hit it, there is an area where you should strike and getting the mallet to kind of rebound or bounce off of the instrument gets that lovely resonant sound. very well done.
@JustBenNotBenjamin8 жыл бұрын
Wait no metronome or anything... how did you keep in time? Just by knowing the tempo and being consistent?? Because if so PROPS
@tiberiu_nicolae8 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing but at the end of the song, you can see he has earphones in. I just don't think anyone could keep the tempo for that long on 5 instruments without some kind of help.

You just get the tempo after a while
@juststeveschannel8 жыл бұрын
Can't say how he did it, and regardless of how, it's very impressive and a great job, but one way of doing this is to record the first (and longest, most complete track) and then play that back at a very low level as you record the other layers. Since the first layer is then brought up in the mix of the later layers, it easily covers any "echo" of having two tracks of it playing.

Tyrael Archangel you clearly didnt structure your sentence very well. all you did was give an example of muggles, you never stated whether you were talking about character or just the inability to use magic.
@tyraelarchangel1837 жыл бұрын
Dylan harris I quote myself: "...muggles LIKE THE DURSLEY'S", i.e. muggles who hate magic. Hence why there are dislikes from them, because they're muggles LIKE THE DURSLEY'S, whom hate magic. The other muggles here enjoyed this video, because we like magic. Reading comprehension. The fact I am a muggle, which you brought up, was already validated by my comment, I know I'm a muggle, but since I'm not like the Dursely's (in the way that I don't hate magic) I liked this video. Seriously, it was a 7 word sentence and you basically sipped the last three?

whats the difference between a xylophone and a marimba?
@polar5347 жыл бұрын
redhed645 Xylophones are made of different wood (I want to say it's thicker and more woody but that just doesn't sound right or professional), giving a lot less deep pitches as the marimba. Also, a Xylophone doesn't contain as many octaves as the Marimba either.
@redhed64597 жыл бұрын
thank you for the explanation
@MileenietheMarshmie7 жыл бұрын
The way that it's notated is also different. Xylophone transposes everything up an octave so everything is higher than it is written. It also has more of a "bite" or aggressiveness to the sound than the marimba which is more mellow
@jennakeith57117 жыл бұрын
marimbas have metal keys where a xylophone is made of wood
@MileenietheMarshmie7 жыл бұрын
Actually, marimbas do not have metal keys. I think what you're thinking of is a vibraphone. But, marimbas like vibraphones have metal tube resonators under the keys to help the sound project
