Jason Isaacs is such an underrated actor. I got to meet him once at Seattle's Comic-Con and he is such an awesome dude. Even his acting in The Patriot as Colonel Covington was awesome.

I've loved his acting since I was a preteen and saw The Patriot. Then I saw him in Harry Potter and saw a few less villainous roles, and I noticed something unusual: he acts with his eyes a lot. When he played Covington and Lucius, his eyes were really narrow which makes them look cold and emotionless. Then you see him as the dad in Peter Pan and the eyes are suddenly much more wide and make him look like the normal person he's playing. That skill with the eyes (and their color) made me hope he'd play Roose Bolton in Game of Thrones. I also wanted Cillian Murphy as Ramsay because the two have the "icy Bolton eyes"... the actors they got don't really have the right color to me.

I guarantee it’s not a compliment to him when 11 years after the fact he still gets death threats and hatred over a 3 second scene with fictional characters. I agree his acting in making the character deplorable is excellent. My point still stands these people suck, and can’t separate fact from fiction if they take the time to actually insult and be rude to Jason via email or otherwise over a fictitious scenario. That is literally harassment. There is no excuse for it. And if they’re taking the time to be rude in that sense, they are obviously taking the film too seriously whether they understand it’s make believe or not.

I give Issacs no fault at all for his infamous scene with Harry and Dobby it was practically exactly the way it was in the book. And I give him mega props for keeping the tone of the books when they had already left out so much already.

I can relate with Tom. My father won tickets to the Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone opening night in my city (2001 I think?). I’d never heard of the movie and had absolutely no idea what it was about but I agreed to go. When we rocked up to the cinema I had no idea why there was a real white owl there and kids dressed like little wizards with round glasses. There was even a gentleman there who made an "appearance" because his name was Harry Potter. Needless to say, once I watched the movie I was forever hooked.

I liked that touch... Voldy didn't want to kill purebloods and thought maybe a hug would humanize him in their eyes so he didn't have to. The fact that he had no idea how to actually hug someone was obvious and added a bit of tragedy to the villain.

I actually liked the touch of Jason Isaacs about to cast the killing curse. It always felt like it gave us insight into just how dangerous Lucious Malfoy could be, and just how much Harry truly owed to Dobby. In the end, Dobby TRULY saved Harry's life in my mind.

I always believed that Lucius was gonna transfigure Harry. I believed it for two reasons. One it sounds to me like he was saying "Vera" like Vera Verto. The other reason is sometimes I watch the movies with CC on and the closed captions for this line literally says "Vera".
