@@candyOrangeGray If being good at maths is your definition of a genius, you're very narrow-minded. There are many kinds of intelligence. Making up iconic voices that fit the character as well as being able to understand and manipulate your voice as much as these guys do are skills that definitely require certain kinds of intelligence on a very high level.

@Sketchy Stuff It's worse than not making progress... we're moving backwards. This isn't anything like dated, repugnant practices like black or yellowface, and I never felt there was anything remotely demeaning in the portrayal of any Simpsons characters. Yes, Apu is unquestionably a stereotype as a convenience store owner, but he also has a PhD, and he's no goofier than any of the other characters. I remember Harry saying in an interview that Mr. Burns was his favourite, but most difficult/straining voice to do. This really makes sense when you see him run throughhis characters, as Burns is notably different. I think it's his bassy voice, which he kinda removes the bass from to speak like Mr. Burns. Really cool seeing these two doing improv, as well!
@foxygrin

Yeah, and then Smithers is all bass lmao. Makes sense how he sounds even deeper but still good nowadays while Burns sounds completely different

Dan Castelleneta is actually one of the consulting producers on The Simpsons. But I don’t think even he can turn the sitcom around. So many episodes have been made that the creative well has just become completely dried up many times over at this point.
