The reason people love this performance despite it not being his best (like he's performed falling much better than this a million times on tour) is cuz of how emotional he was and because of the context of how his week was before this show. He lost his ex to suicide and then his own life was endangered when he was robbed at knifepoint and then had to come perform this, all in the same week.

Ahem, he definitely was a bit pitchy and his voice was about to fail him.; you can clearly hear it almost breaking at one point. Now we know it's because he was having a super emotional week, and that definitely added to the performance the extra depth. But vocally, not his best.

Loved the reaction! But this was in my opinion not his best performance. Theres nothing wrong with it but other times he just hits the notes so wonderfully

I'm always a bit uncomfortable watching this performance because he's not at his best, but mainly because he is visibly in great emotional pain. But he is a professional musician to the core, so he just went ahead and performed, even after all that had happened only a few days before. The way he pulled this off just shows how amazing he is. Gotta admire him for that alone.
