I think what they meant with it is a pillow sometimes called purity pillow or something else. It's used in film so actors have a bit more privacy when filming intimate scenes and sensitive parts aren't touching. It depends on the actors, layout/ choreography of the scene and production if they use one. Also intimacy coordinators often bring/ suggest those to make sure everyone is comfortable and 100% ok but it sounds like they didn't have one on this set.
