Harry Warren (1893-1981), the late, great Hollywood songwriting legend, was interviewed by Ian Whitcomb in 1972. Mr. Warren composed some of the most well-known songs in American music history... eleven of which were nominated for the Academy Award for "Best Song." (Three of those songs won the Oscar.)
What else can we say but... "When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie... That's Amore!"

Curious that Ian Whitcomb only knew "There will never be another you" "slightly." One of the great songs of the Great American Songbook. For me, Warren rates right up there in the Pantheon with Gershwin, Rodgers, Berlin, and Porter .

Not only did Harry Warren write more #1 hit songs than any of those illustrious songwriters you mentioned but, according to the IMDb (Internet Movie Database), here's how they all stack up with regard to"Movie Soundtrack Credits"... Gershwin (769), Porter (881), Berlin (882), Rodgers (1084) and the great Harry Warren (1840)!!! Harry Warren is the "Babe Ruth" of Hollywood songwriters... case closed!

The duet of "Pasadena" at the end is exquisite! Interesting that it had been a big hit in England but not in the US... Thank you AGAIN for making and sharing this video interview.

Wow. Why don't more people like this? Many of those songs have also been in movies in the last 30 years. Well , maybe it's hard to put his awesome music to the violent movies of today.

I love that advice about only pitching one song at a time! We songwriters get carried away, but people can't take too much in at once!

Its despicable and disgusting that the Ultimate American Song Writer Harry Warren did not get the recognition deserved and still deserves..he blows away all the other American British and jewish american writers of yesterday and today including berlin sherman lennon and mccartney

Harry Warren was born Salvatore Guaragna and he lived in Brooklyn NY! He felt it was necessary to Americanize his name to succeed

Actually, his father changed the family name and Harry's first name when Harry was about 5 years old.
