Very late the party, but the finger-nose thing is “nose goes.” When there’s a task no one particularly wants to do, someone might say “nose goes,” and everyone puts a finger to their nose. The person who does it last (like Harry) is assigned the task. I have no idea where I learned it, but it was a staple of me and my brothers childhoods - always trying to get out of chores!
