The sounds of cars are just class, sad to think in years to come which isn’t gonna be very long we are gonna only have boring silent electric cars which is quite shit to think about man. Yeah electric cars have that instant torque and what not but I’d rather have a loud fast car than a silent one. Most of the time you can tell what car is coming down the road just by the sound but soon that’ll be no more😂

I have a black wagon the same with a dsg and engine tune and its sharpened everything up. Brakes and suspension are sweet, I love it too brother and have never driven around with a window down so often. Holds its own around town too!!

It’s a hell of a six cylinder, it makes 300whp from the factory and with a few bolt ons you’d be surprised how much that car can pull in the low end. It ain’t no sleeper with that loud exhaust, but it’s def a family wagon unsuspecting car only ever seen a few in life and they all boogie’d

All you need is a valve control for the exhaust and turn the loudness off and on when ever you want. I own one and I know how fun they are to drive! Had many other cars including a e46 M3 and still love the r36 even more.

Love the VR6, I had a mk3 Golf Vr6 Highline many years ago. The VR6 name comes from "Verkürzt” and “Reihenmotor" which translated means shortened inline engine, and 6 you can work out yourself. I always knew it as a Vee straight 6. Same basic design as a W16 Bugatti engine, but that engine is two VR8 engines sharing the same crankshaft. Or even the W8 in the passat or W12 in Bentleys. VR4 and VR6 respectively.

Love the noise of a VR6 but can have better and similar power on my 21yr old 1.9 PD. :D I believe a diesel with more power probably more of a sleeper, not as noisy too lol.

Very true. The odd thing is they are badged as a VR6 in some cars and then a V6 in some others using that engine. The A3 3.2,Sharan 2.8 and Galaxy 2.8 using the Verkürzt Reihenmotor had V6 on the engine cover when they aren’t a V6 in the traditional design. Must have caused a bit of confusion for a few backstreet mechanics. I love obscure engines. The weird Mazda 1.8 24v V6 in the MX3 being one of them.

I currently drive an 08 Astra "Caravan" (?) (why?) Estate diesel and love it. It's not fast but is torquey which I love. And, of course, you can get bikes in the back in needs be! Oh and windsurfer on the roof!

I just have a 2006 tdi sport dsg , it's a brilliant car the most favorite car ever. You have a few more horses and 4wd, you can turbo these upto about 800 I think I've seen. You are a lucky man

My Dad bequeathed me his 2008 b6 passat estate 2litre sel. I absolutely love the r36, I think the main appeal with these motors is that they are under the radar (proper sleeper cars). Would love the r36 but very pricey as I don't think that your getting anything decent under twenty grand. After seeing this I am definitely contemplating doing mine up to a good standard maybe up to the standard (as close as I can) of the r36

20.9 mpg sounds decent. I've got a 2022 Touareg Black Edition TSI, and long term average is 19 mpg. Granted it's a heavy car, but it's also newer and so should be more efficient.

R in the VR6 stands for Inline, and the Pistons are only on e a 15 degree angle where a actual V6 is a 90 degree angle. so it is both a V and Inline 6.

Should never put a DSG gearbox in N when in motion, to get it out of sport mode just put it back in D. If you go into N you should actually come to a stop before going back into gear
