Easy technically but lots of changes to remember where to drop the bass lines in with the guitar chord changes. Great when you get it right. This is one where you need to split it into sections and learn each one individually rather than rush to play the whole song all the way through. Following the moving tab helps loads but you can't do this to play live so head down and learn it!

In a 4 hour gig a bassist will play for about 190 minutes; at 140 beats per minute times two for running 8s that would be approximately 53,000 notes!!!!! Thank goodness they're not all like this one!!! But actually playing 15,000 in a night isn't really unusual. Just so you're thinking about it! Oh, and the drummer hits many more things, but uses four limbs independently.

Rocking those Running 8s!!! Nice job. I've got to learn to play this one (easy-ish) and sing lead (not so easy), and then for the second half after the bridge switch to keys bass with some chords on top for the backing pad sounds.

Hi. My brother, Phil Feit is the bassist who played on White Wedding. He plays this song with a heavy pick not fingers. And the opening riff is played B on E string at the 7th fret- D on E string at the 10th fret- F# on A string at the 9th fret- E on A string the 7th fret to D on E string at the 10th fret back to B and repeat until open E to D on A string at the 5th fret. 😃
@GlennKidd2 жыл бұрын
PS. The picking with a heavy bass pick is all downstrokes in 8th notes.
@robertmarr5664 Жыл бұрын
I looked at a video and it sure looks like the bassist played B on the E string and the next 3 notes on the A string with a shift. Is this Phil? kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZvKpYqwrpKXhqc. I find the 7/10/7/9/7 move rather awkward, but I'm a total beginner. You can see the pinky reach for the shift at 2:07
@GlennKidd Жыл бұрын
@@robertmarr5664 That’s Steve Webster in the IDOL’s Rebel Yell Tour who replaced Phil in the middle of recording Rebel Yell. The way I wrote the pattern previously is the way how Phil played it. The intro is all between the 7th and 10th frets on the E & A strings. The pinky stretch on the E string at 10th fret is correct. Cheers!
