There was more then 3 times. 4th one is where Snape was helping Harry by training him to over come Voldemort from getting into his mind. Then Snape giving Harry his tears to reveal everything. Snape pretended to be on the Dark lord side by protected everyone including Harry. Not knowing the truth. Snape protecting Harry from Sirius Black but not knowing Sirius is a good guy. Snape protected Harry from Deloris Umbridge by pretending he didn’t know what Harry was talking about padfoot when in fact he did. Many more. Snape is the greatest wizard ever known. In the movie, Snape shields the three of them in the exact same way Lily did for Harry, something no one else in the entire series does for them. In the book, this doesn't happen sure, but what does happen is a little while back when Snape catches Harry out at night and he chews him out about how he's wasting the efforts of everyone from the Minister downwards keeping him safe and on my 3rd reread I realize this was him subtly stung about how Harry has been sneaking out while Snape has been patrolling the castle with the other faculty well into the night every day

Rowling had decided everything about Snape since the very beginning (a lot of important stuff happens in the first book). Alan read all the seven books and actually really liked Snape’s evolution. It's not just 3 times. Snape showed so many signs he cared about Harry. Like that one time he saved not just Harry, from Lupin, he jumped in front of the trio so that Lupin couldn't hurt them and he did that without a wand. Then we have the one at the Astronomy Tower where he signals Harry to be quiet so that the death eaters couldn't see him or hurt him. He only killed Dumbledore because he said the one to kill him would be Snape. He remained loyal.

There's also the fact that Snape saved Harry from both Sirius and Professor Lupin, of which he originally thought they were trying to kill him during his 3rd year in Hogwarts. And later on, when Professor Lupin was turned into a werewolf, Snape used his body as a shield to protect Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Then there was the time in Harry's 5th year where he taught Harry how to discipline his mind against Voldemort's brainwashing. And in Year 6, Snape also saved Harry from being killed by Bellatrix. In that same scene, when Harry attempted to cut open Snape using Sectumsempura (99% I sure I misspelt it,) Snape used a counterspell that just knocked Harry back instead of receiving the front end of the spell. And of course, there Harry's unofficial 7th year, where Snape was acting as a double agent and giving false information, or information that wasn't 100% accurate, to the Death Eaters and Voldemort in order to protect Harry. He also used his Patronus Charm to tell Harry where the Sword of Griffindor.

Neville A guy with so much emotional trama like his parents being tortured to madness, his greatest fear still remains a up tight professor who holds a childhood grudge (to the point where he bullies an orphan) and other children because of a heartbreak. He stopped the deatheaters from killing harry by mentioning only the Dark Lord can kill him in movie 6. Snape casts the Doe in movie 7 part 1 to help Harry find the sword which also unintentionally reunites Ron and Harry. Snape in part 2 of movie 7 blocks harry, ron and hermione's shadow from being seen through the see through wall before snape dies by the snake.

When u watch the entire season after watching the last one you will see that snape was always protecting harry and was always looking at his eyes ( lily*s eyes )
