1. McGonagall fell in love and got engaged to a muggle farmer without ever telling him that she was a witch and broke off the engagement rather than, you know, tell him she was a witch. 2. Dumbledore could see Harry underneath the invisibility cloak. 3. Rowling chose to not have Harry and Hermione end up together mostly just to subvert expectations. 4. The philosopher's stone has its own alchemical symbol that looks similar to the Deathly Hallows symbol. 5. The first line of the first book originally was "The Potter family lived in Dark's Hollow." 6. Nagini was a human that was cursed to eventually turn permanently into a snake. She and Voldemort met and bonded because he could communicate with her. 7. Mopsus was a cut character that was an accurate and skilled seer that would have been a reliable, as opposed to Trelawney who was goofy and unreliable.

I far prefer the books to the movies, but I disagree wholeheartedly that Harry and Hermione would have made a good match. Not only are their relationship constantly stated to be that of brother and sister but HarryxGinny and RonxHermione is honestly the best match in my opinion. Harry started our as a orphan with no family, but by marrying Ginny, he ended up as part of a large family. Not only that, but because Ron and Hermione also got married, his two best friends ended up as his family too. They literally became his brother and sister-in-law which I think is just the perfect outcome for him. I don't understand why people seem against this there is no better match.

Rowling was way too influenced by the fandom. And in the books it was broadcast pretty much from the beginning that Ginny was the future Mrs. Potter. She didn't get enough development to really make it feel as satisfying as it should have but it was still clearly broadcast.

In the books Harry never saw Hermione in a romantic sense he always saw her as a sister and friend. There's a very good article about it on leaky cauldron. Having Ron and Hermione together is a good pairing of having something that each of them needs and has that compliments each other. Ron is a wizard from The wizarding world that loves the muggle world. Where Hermione's from the muggle world and loves the wizarding world so it nicely laces together.

Harry should have ended up with Luna. In the books she seems to have the most chemistry. I don't feel the Ginny connection aside from it being purely infatuation or superficial. Then again, that may have been the reasoning JK went with since they are teenagers and well, teenagers tend to be more passionate about those sort of things rather than meaningful connections on a more than skin deep level(for example, Harry having what could only be implied as him experiencing a mild “wet dream” about Ginny, to the point he would panic at the time if Ron ever knew about them). To me it just seems to be purely just attraction and familiarity rather than any real chemistry. That being said, I’m on my second read through,(Goblet of fire right now) so I may be wrong in my judgment. So, we’ll see if I missed out what others saw or if I’ll be sticking to my guns. I will comment back when I finish again. which will likely happen in a month for the rest of the series.

IMO I like who Luna ends up with; she ends up with someone who genuinely has a passion in the same field as her, and believes all the fantastical beings she does. Being a magical zoologist is pretty perfect for her- and she basically is dating Newt scamsnder’s grandson (or was it great grandson?). It’s like.. The perfect pairing honestly, two that love beasts and beings many don’t believe in, while making writing that shows their existence.

@ But that's all off the page. Or the equivalent of being off camera if this were a film. I prefer romances to be shown in the main story and happen over time. Where they are built up between the characters. With all their struggles and them overcoming of adversities. On paper, yes, Scamander is a good choice but we don't see any of that chemistry on the page. It isn't even in the main story and is basically an asterisk footnote to put book ends on her arc after the fact. But eh, to each their own, I guess.

Actually I much perfer the Books... but still think Harry and Hermione would have made a good match. Obviously the Books do a MUCH better job with Ginny/Harry and Ron/Hermione relationships. In the movies yes Harry and Hemione have more chemestry, and Ginny's character is a mess. But doesn't change the fact that it would have been easy for her JKR to write it as Harry/Hermione... they DO have much more in common with growing up in the Muggle world, and the "surprise" of the Wizarding world(as a simple example.

the new one was Mopsus. Actually I would have loved better than Trelawney. I agree that the movies did not do justice to either Ron or Ginny. That said, my head canon has always had both Harry and Hermione remain single for life. Harry because of the trauma of his upbringing, Hermione to pursue a life of serious scholarship. I still prefer my head version, though I have read other comments, and can understand the argument that harry would be drawn to the large Weasely family. Thank you for another great video.

After watching the first few Harry Potter films, I actually tried to read the first Harry Potter book but found it terribly dry and kind of boring. This was in stark contrast to every single other novel that I've read that's been adapted into film where the books were even more engrossing with a far more flushed out world. Maybe it would've gotten better had I kept going but I didn't and simply returned the book from the person I borrowed it from. But after hearing for YEARS about how much more the books have to offer over the films I honestly really just want this series to become a thing and to be good because I can't see myself reading the books at this point but I would definitely be interested in seeing how they'll re-adapt the books into a longer form medium like a TV show. Even if it's only 8 episode seasons that's still likely almost 8 hours to cover a single book and they could easily split the last season into two parts in order to get the most out of it for their streaming service while also giving more time to wrap everything up.

As for Ron and Hermione, it is often said that guys end up marrying girls that are like their moms. Ron mom was strict, exacting, bossy, and a very formidable and powerful witch (she axed Bellatrix!!!). That rather sound like Hermione, doesn't it? Ron was obviously both attracted to her and frustrated by her. I think Ron and Hermione were destined to be together. As for Harry, his mom was a beautiful, fiery redhead, who was very charming and talented. Sound familiar? That's Ginny in a nutshell. Harry and Ginny are perfect.

Hey I thought of something that made me raise my eyes. Now I never read the books so i'm not sure if i'm missing anything. When Draco disarmed Dumbledore the elder wand responded to him. Yet when Harry disarmed Draco, the wand listened to Harry. Yet when Voldemort killed Harry in the Forbidden Forest, he still technically killed him. So wouldn't that mean that the Elder Wand should have listened to Voldemort? Or am I missing something?
@MordechaiHershoffyoutubeКүн бұрын
Harry gave himself up to Voldemort, so the wand didn't trade sides because Voldemort didn't show more power, to the contrary Voldemort fell down and was knocked with Harry doing nothing, powerful magic was at play and it was benefiting Harry, not Voldemort, the wand gets to decide whether it wishes to be won over by a person, it makes it's own rules, and as powerful as Voldemort was it felt (in my opinion), that he was missing most of his soul, so that's why the wand wasn't won over by Voldemort.

Dumbledore was on of the greatest (if not the greatest) wizards of all time, it was Dumbledore's belief that the Peverrel brothers made it, not Death. When the background for characters... fit, it is fine when the author is all 'oh, yeah', but... Some of these are stories, which fit way better... The 'Dumbledore is Gay' was terrible, still hardly consider it canon. Not that there can't be gay characters in Harry Potter, the universe is plenty large for it... It just didn't fit with the story, because Dumbledore's Sexuality explicitly wasn't important to the Story. Much like that 'Oh, Dumbledore could sense Harry within the cloak, he just could' it... doesn't fit, it isn't part of a story... it doesn't really work the same. A story about McGonigal's Past? That's amazing and works.

Dumbledore could see or at least sense that Harry was in the room, I mean look at Chamber of Secrets, with Hagrid getting carted off to Azkaban, Harry feels at the time that Dumbledore know exactly where Harry is, not only that but he had the Elder wand and had the cloak with him for 10 years to study, and Moody's eye could see Harry under the cloak too.
@zephodbКүн бұрын
@@MordechaiHershoffyoutube I'm more likely to expect that Dumbledore, in a room can sense that there's enchantment/illusion about of the cloak; this is based on what happened in the STORY when he spoke about being able to feel enchantment when entering the cave where the amulet was supposed to be, that magic which makes something invisible and he can see Thestrals... That'd be a better explanation: deducing that which can be invisible in the castle to him, and going, 'Oh, that's harry, I can't see him but I know someone invisible is in the room'. Him studying the cloak for 10 years is a 'sure', but... I'd like more of an explanation, just 'Oh, yeah, totally can' doesn't work. :) We need a story that fits in universe. :)
