Paramount Newsreel, “Churchill’s Honorary Degree.” Footage of President Harry S. Truman and former Prime Minister Winston Churchill arriving in Fulton, Missouri, at Westminster College. This film shows excerpts of Mr. Churchill's "Sinews of Peace" speech but does not include his "iron curtain" reference. After the speech, Churchill is awarded an honorary degree and gives additional remarks, "But I need scarcely tell you how profound is my love for this great mighty nation and empire of the United States, who have long been a refuge to the oppressed of every race and every clime and are now the foremost son of civilization in upholding the forward march of men." March 5, 1945.
