I haven't owned one yet, but plan to buy an M35A2D, this weekend. I don't plan to have it cut to a 4x4. I want to keep it all. If my wife were still living, she would fuss about me wanting to buy it, but after I had it, and used it, for a while, especially hauling garden supplies and, feed, and stuff like that, she would beg, and/or order me not sell it, and fuss, if I tried to sell it. I sure miss all of that, and her.

I’m pretty sure I stopped you in traffic one day because the side box was open and the battery tender cord was dragging dangerously close to the rear tire. I got out and shut the door at the light before you pulled over. I should have stopped to chat a bit, but I was on my way to get kiddos. Awesome truck. I plan on owning one soon, but first I need a place to keep it.

Sorry for the late reply. The truck wont carry as much weight with the 3rd axle gone but it is much better off road. My truck is about 6 feet shorter and about 7,000 pounds lighter. Its also quicker too, 0 to 60 is down to like 5 minutes now 😎

I would like to buy one of these vehicles to make it an all purpose vehicle because where I live we get a lot of floods and I'd like to help people you know get to safe grounds and I also on a landscaping business I live in Connecticut we get snow so I would put A snowplow and I definitely would have to be your dump bed because I do leaves to make a Box on the truck and suck the leaves up with that how much did some like this cost

The engine is a Cummins 6CTA 8.3L. The original truck was designed to be driven with a full load. When the truck is empty, the driver had to take care to slow down. Since the rear brakes activate a split second before the front does, an empty truck had a tendency to spin out of control. The Army applied an ABS kit to the rear brakes in the late 90's to minimize that problem. The A2 (in M923A2) would indicate that the truck had a CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System).

As Dilbert said, an 8.3 Cummins turbo diesel. Truck would easily lock up rear tires and was very dangerous in the rain. These 5tons were the most dangerous vehicle the military every bought, account for 50 percent of all soldier vehicle fatalities.

The reason why Brakes would lock up is because Boots forgot to drain the Air Tanks once every two weeks,and some idiots thought that Ary Dryers and Self Bleeding Valves would do the work for them.Human error is what caused the ABS upgrade.These trucks are not horrible at all.

Sorry I have not responded. I never got any serious interest in this truck so I traded it for a new 2019 Corvette Grand Sport. The Chevy dealer sent the truck up north. The cajun that built my truck is in Lake Charles Louisiana, he told me my truck was one of the last he will build.
